GitHub Security is hiring an Engineering Manager to help lead and evolve the Platform Health Team. This team helps protect the GitHub Platform from abuse at scale. Practically this means detecting, remediating, and preventing a number of types of abuse including but not limited to:
Our engineers work closely with our analysts, investigators, and data scientists to collect and analyze hundreds of signals across billions of events in both automated and manual workflows. One of our goals as engineers is to act as a force multiplier for our stakeholders by decreasing their iteration times and increasing the number of signals available to them.
We build datasets to answer questions more quickly. We design and implement infrastructure to detect abuse in new products. We build web apps to support analysis and investigative workflows. We build APIs that serve the entire Security organization. We consult with product teams to help them build abuse resilient features.
GitHub’s Security team is highly distributed and to be successful you must thrive in an environment of distributed work and asynchronous communication. Strong written communication skills are essential, as is the ability to develop strong working relationships with coworkers in locations around the globe. This role is not about dictating a team member's work directly, but rather guiding and serving to ensure the productivity and success of the members and team. A primary goal of this job is to enable each team member to do the best work of their lives securing GitHub.

Minimum salary of $104,400 to maximum $221,500 + bonus + equity + benefits.
