Careers that Change Lives The NPI (New Product Introduction) Program Manager in Spine PMO Team will act as a CTL (Core Team Lead) and will be responsible for successfully leading NPI (new product introduction) core teams (comprised of members with expertise from all areas involved in product commercialization) as they develop new products and therapies from concept development to full commercial release. As CTL, he/she will be responsible for ensuring new products and therapies are commercialized on-time and on budget, with agreed scope, with best in class quality and meets desired business outcomes. The CTL is accountable to the Phase Review Committee (PRC) for overall project/program execution and ensuring team commitments (project contract) are met.

Preference is to be onsite in Memphis, TN or Lousiville, CO but would consider remote within US.
A Day in the Life
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.
- Serve as the core team leader on low to moderate complexity product development projects/programs by providing overall leadership, vision, direction, and structure to our cross-functional core team. Leads the team to deliver on business objectives and ensure customer expectations are met or exceeded; Leads with integrity, passion and humility
- Represents the program to leadership; Leads phase gate review presentations at Phase Review Committee (PRC) and is accountable to PRC for overall project/program execution and ensuring team commitments (project contract) are met.
- Collaborates with upstream marketing to clearly articulate the key value proposition of the project for our customers; Defines the investment needed and expected return of the investment to the business unit.
- Demonstrates high emotional intelligence; builds trust, rapport and respect with project team members and stakeholders; Engages in honest and transparent conversations
- Creates a culture where teams can act with a high sense of urgency and accountability to meeting/exceeding individual and project goals
- Encourages a team culture that challenges traditions, fosters non-judgment, rewards creativity, and elimination of non-value-added work
- Understands complex problems and drives the team to effective resolution
- Demonstrates effective collaborative processes for decision-making. Will help facilitate the team to take decisions and make decisions as CTL based on appropriate consideration of the trade-offs.

- Develop core team members by providing coaching and development. Serve as an advisor regarding tasks, projects and operations. Evaluate and provide candid feedback to core team members as well as their managers on an as-needed basis.
- Proactively applies project management tools and techniques for project scoping and planning; Defines functional deliverables to achieve project objectives and scope; Creates an accurate project schedule and identifies critical path activities; Looks at various opportunities to influence critical path/schedule; Determines required project budget (direct expenses, labor expenses and capital expenses) and manages a team to execute within budget
- Leads core team meetings and other necessary meetings to drive best in class program execution; Continually improves quality and effectiveness of how meetings are run, decisions are made, and how work gets done
- Controls project scope and manage changes; solicits and understands the business/customer needs; rescopes the program when there is a shift in need
- Proactively identifies, mitigates, and takes responsible risks. Experience with risk planning, management, risk strategies, and applying monte carlo analysis to develop an accurate risk-adjusted schedule
- Effectively manages and resolves issues with the core team and when needed escalates issue to cross-functional management per established issue escalation pathway
- Efficiently and effectively communicates (verbal and written) complex topics and caters message to the specific audience
- Identifies and manages stakeholders; Keeps stakeholders informed with appropriate and timely information
- Ensure lessons learned are documented throughout the project/program execution and identifies areas of opportunities for Product Development Process (PDP) Improvement
Must Have: Minimum Requirements
Bachelors degree and a minimum of 5 years of program management experience in a broad multi-functional business or an advanced degree with a minimum of 3 years of experience

- Demonstrated track record of successfully managing and leading projects in the medical device industry
- Demonstrated track record of leading within complex organizations requiring strong influence management skills.
- Strong Microsoft Project skillset: creating project plan, baseline, resource planning, critical path establishment, etc.
- Business acumen; ability to think from an overall “best for the business” perspective
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to work cooperatively at all levels in matrix environment to build and maintain the positive relationships required to accomplish organizational goals.
- Effective decision-making skills -- ability to negotiate and balance decisions and priorities across needs of several functional departments. Makes timely decisions in the face of risk and uncertainty.
- Knowledge of each function represented on the Core Team and understanding of core team member roles and responsibilities. Past experience in multiple functional areas such as R&D, Quality, Marketing, Manufacturing, etc is preferred.
- Customer focused in all interactions. Demonstrated ability to understand customer requirements and incorporate into business decisions.
