Digital Health Organization Overview

Primary Purpose

The Product Manager is responsible for defining, driving and maximizing the value of the digital products with support from the design and development team. The Product Manager will drive ideas from concept though execution, gaining alignment and resolving conflicts from their respective therapeutic area’s commercial, medical and clinical teams, and other stakeholders as appropriate with an eye towards the consumer experience. Product Managers will take an iterative approach to develop and refine the product utilizing consumer feedback and business drivers and will develop and maintain a multigenerational product roadmap. Product Managers will establish a culture of customer mindset, design thinking, hypothesis generation, experimentation and validation. In addition to working alongside other Product Managers and colleagues, the Digital Product Manager will also collaborate with a variety of DH teams (e.g., design, development, operations, and solution architecture) to deliver the digital platforms as required in order to meet the needs of our consumers. Having a Product Manager with a higher perspective ensures teams maintain a cohesive vision despite the flexible and often fast-paced nature of agile product development.

This position will report to the Product Management Portfolio Leader – Digital Health.

Primary Position Responsibilities

Product Management

• Define product scope, release roadmap and digital product profiles (DPPs) through strong collaboration and negotiations with internal project stakeholders (Commercial, Medical, Development, Regulatory, Privacy, Development, and others)
• Prioritize features to implement based on level of effort versus market impact
• Develop and implement strategy to incorporate consumer related feedback from research, user testing and other sources to direct design and development of active digital products
• Work with Project Management, Design and Development to ensure the timely delivery of prioritized features
• Work with Commercial, Marketing and Development on supporting the successful launch of products
• Review design outputs and provide directional feedback
• SCRAT Chair for products supported
• Gain cross-functional team alignment to achieve delivery goals

Brand/Innovation-driven products

• Maintain prioritized product backlogs with an eye to brand and innovation strategy
• Work with brand teams, Digital Health NPP leaders and research programs to support the definition and refinement of digital strategy for the unmet medical need
• Support the Product Management Portfolio Leader in maintaining a perspective on the landscape of innovation opportunities (e.g., scientific, clinical, business, technological, other) and business opportunities (e.g., partnerships, pilots) and to prepare for external discussions with potential partners
• Support the Product Management Portfolio Leader in conjunction with External Innovation team, and Business Development with definition and evaluation of established assessment criteria for various deals to ensure alignment with Brand and DH strategy

Operational responsibilities

• Communicate status and challenges to leadership in a clear and concise manner
• Identify and share risks and create and lead effective mitigation strategies
• Manage vendors that support the Product Manager objectives
• Identify opportunities to optimize existing processes, tools, templates to improve the quality and expedite delivery of digital therapeutic products
• Support execution of various Leadership meetings through product updates, demos and communications

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelors of science or arts
• 5+ years of experience in consumer software product development leadership and/or product ownership
• 2+ years of experience Software as a Medical Device (SaMD) product development
• 3+ years of product experience in digital health, healthcare innovation, technical innovation, preferably in a healthcare company

Additional Skills / Preferences

• Demonstrated understanding in immunology disease areas
• Experience with physical device and software medical device combination solutions
• Experience with Human Factors usability testing with SaMDs
• Focus on value, outcome delivery and driving programs forward
• Identifying and resolving barriers to successful delivery across broad contributing teams and stakeholders (e.g. Privacy, Regulatory, Marketing, Quality, Ethics & Compliance, etc.)
• Ability to translate concepts into tangible products
• Experience working with large cross-functional teams, complex project teams and innovation projects in a virtual manner
• Excellent communication (written and verbal), interpersonal and team building skills (e.g., effective coaching and feedback)
• Excellent self-management and organizational skills. Able to manage a diverse workload, set personal priorities and adjust as needed
• Strong problem-solving, risk management and decision skills. Able to anticipate and recognize problems, diagnose root causes, solve unique and complex problems
• Strong business acumen and ability to influence business partners and principles
• Strong ethics, consumer-focused approach and ability to earn credibility and trust
