Here at Mars Food Australia (MFA) we have a brilliant opportunity for an experienced Supplier Quality Assurance (SQA) Technologist to join our well established and collaborative Commercial team based in Wyong. The successful candidate should possess a natural flair and passion for building strong and trusted relationships throughout the business. Quality will be a common thread in your work and something you strive for in all areas. This is a great opportunity with Mars to understand our food segment and liaise with different stakeholders in the business.

Reporting to the Regional SQA Manager & Global Lead the role has three main purposes; the assessment and improvement of a supplier’s capability to meet specification, ensuring the resolution of non-conforming material issues and the technical development of the supply base to meet future requirements.

What would be your key responsibilities?

• Defining problems and coming up with a corrective and preventive actions for non-conforming issues, while following up on a root cause investigation of material incidents to ensure future requirements.
• Represent Mars by leading Quality and Food Safety Audits & build a professional relationship with suppliers.
• Good understanding of Quality & Food Safety Management Systems, standards & legislation
• Conducting audits of our Supplier’s Quality and Food Safety Management Systems.
• Prepared to travel (20% of time) to suppliers, Nationally.

The Ideal Candidate

• Experience in auditing HACCP based Quality Food Safety Management Systems
• Degree qualified in Food Science/Technology or equivalent with a minimum 2 years’ experience in Quality and Food Safety roles preferably within FMCG industry
• A great communicator who can build quality relationships with the immediate team, wider business, and external customers
• Strong time management, accuracy, and high attention to detail
• A natural thinker and problem solver with a love for Continuous Improvement Processes
