Job Description:

The Engineering Manager, Packaging Equipment works with people, processes and equipment in an effort to identify ideal packaging needs with the HelloFresh Distribution Centers. The ideal candidate will use their experience and technical acumen to enhance efficiencies throughout the distribution network.

Packaging Equipment Implementation

• Identify and implement packaging technology to improve food packing efficiency and cost per box
• Become a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in packaging equipment, assisting with troubleshooting, training, and continuous improvement activities
• Assist in the design and engineering of new packaging formats, improve on current for ease of use for our customer and streamline operations for reduced cost
• Work cross-functionally to implement new systems and processes across multiple distribution centers
• Manage processes, projects, and systems in an effort to achieve unit goals in accordance with company policies and practices
• Create an effective work environment by setting clear objectives, successfully integrating with teams and maintaining open communications

You are...

• Strong in design and problem-solving abilities
• Effective with verbal and written communication skills
• Able to work as part of a team and interact effectively with others
• Able to analyze and provide solutions for cost reduction through new equipment introduction and cost/benefit analysis
• Proficient in utilizing labor data to cost justify capital expenditure and process change ROI
• A superior multi-tasker and able to meet concurrent project deadlines
• Excellent with interpersonal skills, professional attitude and approach (have the ability to interact with individuals at various levels of the organization, up and down)

At a minimum, you have...

• BS Packaging Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or similar field required
• 5+ years of engineering experience in multi-site industrial distribution, manufacturing, or processing environments preferred
• Strong technical experience with Vertical (VFFS) and Horizontal Packaging equipment
• Regulatory experience preferred
• Excellent organizational, project, and time management skills
• Demonstrated ability to develop into self-starter, have hands on approach and learn to work independently to accomplish set deliverables, preferred
• Ability to travel up to 25%
