The Credit & Fraud Risk Finance team under Corporate Planning (CP&A) is responsible for the planning, forecasting, and analysis of worldwide Loss Provision and Credit Reserves. Risk Finance provides credit-related decision support to Risk Management, regional Finance teams, and the business teams on underwriting, customer management, and credit and collections activities.

This Manager role will be a part of the Infrastructure and Data Science team within Risk Finance. The primary responsibility of the team is to build and maintain centralized reporting capabilities, implement process improvements and automation, and ultimately drive innovative data solutions for the broader Risk Finance organization.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic analysis of AXP credit metrics, credit provision and reserves for Senior Management in Risk and Finance
  • Provide decision-support with a strong emphasis on developing analytics that identify trends in the portfolio which can be used to optimize Business and Risk decisions
  • Develop and maintain standard and ad hoc reports used by Risk Finance and/or business partners
  • Build core competency in analyzing data at the customer level (primarily via SQL)
  • Develop and present key analyses and recommendations to Senior Management
  • Own specific data assets / applications within Risk Finance, and become a power user of the relevant tool (troubleshoot issues, identify improvement opportunities and train other users to drive adoption)
  • Build and maintain relationships across Risk Finance portfolio teams and with partners in Risk, Controllership, etc.
Minimum Qualifications
  • 4+ years of relevant finance / business work experience
  • Solid financial and analytical skills; ability to work with large sets of data and draw meaningful conclusions, which empower our business partners to make smart, information-based decisions
  • Superior attention to detail, along with exemplary organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Must be results-driven and proactive with the ability to manage multiple projects and work within tight timelines
  • Desire to work on ambiguous projects, creating clarity while driving successful and meaningful outcomes
  • A strong work-ethic and robust interpersonal skills, showcasing the ability to build relationships, develop others and demonstrate leadership both within finance team as well as with business partners
  • Ability to influence and drive alignment among various organizations and stakeholders
  • Experience working with an advanced level of Excel and PowerPoint required; experience working with TM1 required
  • Experience working with any of the following is a plus: SQL/Cornerstone/Hive, PowerBI, Python/R, VBA
  • Bachelor’s degree required
