For the assigned product indications, you will ensure timely, high quality in-market companion diagnostics / testing solutions to enable optimal treatment throughout the patient journey and play an instrumental role in supporting the diagnostic strategy building solid partnerships with relevant Oncology stakeholders and decision makers. You will guarantee that the Dx plan are embedded in the business strategy and ensure that all dx activities are aligned with other oncology functions. You’ll be a subject matter expert of Dx in assigned product indication guaranteeing excellence in sharing knowhow and execution
You will:
- Support the Head of Diagnostic for development and implementation of the national diagnostic strategy for the assigned current and future product indications, in alignment with Global Dx strategy.
- Develop and deliver the Diagnostic Plan and ensure that it is integrated into the Brand Plan under effective cross functional work (marketing, access, medical, sales):
- Plan and develop educational materials and support messages aligned with the testing strategy.
- Manage and control for the assigned budget, identifying deviations from the planned and proposing contingency plans.
- Provide tools for DxLs to support their role within field cross-functional team
- Deliver diagnostic related educational initiatives including meetings, exhibitions, congresses/symposia, digital activities, in collaboration with Diagnostic Liaison.
- Act as AZ reference person for KOLs in patient’s sample diagnostic pathway (biopsy “pickers”, Pathologists, Molecular Biologists, Geneticist, etc), as well as of the national societies for the assigned product indications.
- Design the client / account segmentation strategy necessary to support the Diagnostic Liaison in the implementation of action plans.
- Drive the implementation of quality assurance programs on methods and interpretation of tests.
- Support the Head of Diagnostic in shaping the national Dx strategy and defined the tactics for assigned brand indications by ensuring adequate interpretation of market insights generated by Diagnostic Liaisons
- Support the Head of Diagnostic in developing improvement plans for diagnostic related brand performance (Dx KPIs)
- Ensure in-market companion diagnostics / testing excellence for all assigned product indication launches
- Utilise diagnostics related evidence for medical education activity (e.g., medical evidence, real-world evidence and epidemiology) and identify evidence gaps for either global or local plans to bridge
- Develop collaborative partnerships with diagnostic companies, lab networks, KOLs and HCPs in order to remove barriers to testing

- Successfully complete all training requirements including product examinations
- Comply with all external regulations and internal policies
Ensure compliance with AZ Policies and Standards with special emphasis on Code of Conduct, Ethical Interaction Policy and Standards, Privacy (Patient Group interactions) and Procurement (engagement of third-parties)
Build capability in internal and external stakeholders
- Act as subject matter expert for stakeholders in Scientific Societies and for KOLs for assigned product indications
- Act as an educational resource and as Dx reference to internal colleagues, for the assigned product indications:
- Develop diagnostic expertise in cross-functional team i.e. Mktg, Medical, Sales, MA&GA
Engage with, lead and partner with all members of the office-based cross-functional team on all diagnostic related activities to ensure AZ's Oncology products' launch readiness and optimal launch of therapy.
Essential criteria
- Undergraduate degree; preferably Master Degree in life sciences
- 3+ years of experience in molecular diagnostic market and/or clinical testing market
- 1+ year of experience in field-based role
- Project management experience
- Strong teamwork and collaboration skills
- Strategic and analytical skills
- Excellent communication
- Fluency in English
Desirable criteria
- PhD in science field as Molecular Medicine, Genetics, etc.
- Experience of broad range of oncology diagnostic, pathology, and therapeutic marketing
- Experience in Marketing and Medical roles
