Eaton’s Energy Automation Solutions Division is seeking a Software Test Specialist. This position will be located in Lévis, Quebec.
Position Overview:
The Energy Automation Solutions (EAS) division delivers intelligent energy solutions by combining power systems expertise with innovative technologies to help our customers generate, deliver, and manage energy safely, efficiently, and reliably. EAS provides a range of power delivery and reliability, automation and control, advanced metering and demand response solutions designed to increase efficiency and smart operations. The EAS business serves customers in the utility, commercial, industrial, mining, renewable energy and other markets. With a spirit of innovation crossing decades, EAS is proud of its ground-breaking innovations through customer collaboration, long-standing commitment to investing in R&D, five Innovation Centers around the world, more than 10,000 patents held globally, and its award-winning solutions in power delivery, power quality, power reliability and end customer automation in the utility space. The technical skills, innovative thinking and the tireless dedication of our employees around the world are Eaton's greatest resources.
The software test specialist ensures that the products developed are tested effectively in order to deliver them to market quickly, while meeting the high quality standards in effect at Eaton. It does this by proposing, implementing and maintaining the testing environment, with the objective of increasing the coverage of automated tests and minimizing manual testing. The test specialist participates in the definition of needs and solutions, by sharing his expertise to ensure the testability of deliverables and the maintainability of test infrastructures. He is part of the development team, and therefore works closely with developers, product managers (technical and marketing) and other members of the software group. The new hire will participate in sprint planning exercises, daily Scrum meetings, and end-of-sprint reviews and retros.
The new hire will be exposed to different aspects and technologies of our substation automation products, and will therefore quickly become a reference in the energy domain and the use cases of our products from our customers standpoint. Due to his expertise, he will also be called upon to collaborate with other teams within Eaton, with the objective of contributing to the success of collaborative projects or to ensure the quality of a family of products that share features or work together to offer integrated solutions.
