careers page ! About the Role: This role is the first hire in our Advertising Marketing team and will report to the CMO. We will look to you to partner closely with monetization and marketing leadership to develop both our core narrative for advertisers, as well as a thought leadership platform for Quizlet’s advertising platform and valuable audience. You will work closely with sales identifying market trends and translating partner needs. You'll also work with cross-functional teams to build new commercial opportunities, articulate their value to our sales team and clients, and track performance to measure success. You will help Sales effectively describe, position, and communicate the benefits of Quizlet’s value proposition, the unique audience, and ad product suite.
In this role, you will:
- Lead development of data-driven core narrative for advertisers, supporting both ad platforms and our direct sales teams
- Lead the development of a unique thought leadership platform that helps differentiate the student and learner audience on Quizlet, and differentiates Quizlet from other leading digital advertising platforms
- Partner with our internal brand and (external) creative teams to bring the Quizlet brand and values to life for our advertisers
- Build a deep understanding of different types of customers, understand and consider competitive landscape and target markets in marketing strategies and messaging
- Build marketing collateral and sales enablement material such as pitch decks and case studies that captures the value proposition and positioning Quizlet’s brand advertising product suite and cover the objectives and deliverables for advertisers
- Lead go-to-market efforts in collaboration with cross-functional teams like product management, brand marketing, ad operations, and sales
- Collaborate with key partners from sales, product, and other marketing departments to strategize on effective brand advertising solutions and RFP requests for strategic partners
- Serve as a liaison between the sales, account management, and product teams to act as the voice of the clients to the product team
- Work with PR and industry press
- Work with sales to develop industry-leading packages, sponsorships and other programs to add value to Quizlet and our advertising partners alike
What you bring to the table:
- 5-10 years experience in advertiser marketing for a major digital advertising platform
- Ability to work in a fast-pace, collaborative, and currently remote, startup environment
- Familiarity with the media sales and digital media RFP process
- Creative abilities to create impactful collateral, ad copy (in a pinch), and to drive creative strategy for key customers
- Very strong communication skills, both writing and verbal
- Energetic, customer-focused self-starter with a positive “can-do” attitude
- Creative problem solver with strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to work under tight deadlines and thrive under pressure-filled situations
- Analytical skills so dive into performance data and consume research insights
- Proficient in PowerPoint and Excel
