Through Wells Fargo Private Bank and Abbot Downing, WIM is also a leading provider of trust, investment, and fiduciary services, including personal trust services and a number of specialized wealth services designed to meet the diverse needs of high-net-worth clients.

Wells Fargo’s Institutional Retirement and Trust (IRT) business was purchased by Principal Financial Group (PFG), a provider of retirement, investments, and insurance products and services. The sale was announced in April, 2019, and the transition of in scope team members and clients is expected to be completed by mid-2021. Wells Fargo is committed to supporting the IRT business throughout the transition period and this in scope role will eventually transition over to PFG.

Responsible for leadership of cross functional/virtual teams to strategize, plan and execute a variety of programs, services and initiatives. Examples might include, but are not limited to: finance / operational / executive management review coordination, process improvement and redesign, change management initiatives, ongoing oversight of a leadership / diversity / recognition / Q12 or general program oversight. Provides leadership in the integration /implementation of programs/services/initiatives with cross functional business partners, recognizing the significance of competing priorities and strategies, and adjusting as necessary. Develops metrics and tracks/evaluates performance of programs, services and initiatives. Ensures plans/programs adhere to appropriate policies and regulations. Responsible for leading cross-functional/virtual teams, activities and people associated with complex business initiatives across lines of business, with a business focus.

Functions include:

  • Directing activities of teams in execution of initiatives
  • Working with multiple groups to identify requirements, develop execution plans and strategies for programs, services or initiatives
  • Prepare business cases and assign tasks
  • Influencing and negotiating with all levels of staff and management
  • Ensuring control and management of risks and issues
  • Interfacing with users to define needs and issues
  • Creating and/or overseeing user training and communication, as applicable
  • Identifying, developing and implementing policies/procedures/controls within scope of initiative to optimize results while ensuring compliance with government regulations and enterprise policies

The most successful candidate will have a strong accomplishment history with the following:

  • Demonstrated leadership experience, leading both virtual and local individual contributors
  • Demonstrated experience effectively managing cross enterprise, business initiatives spanning budget size and scope
  • Direct experience influencing others, e.g. Technology, Legal, Risk, Compliance, Audit and others; building partnerships to achieve desired outcomes
  • Relevant analytical skills
  • Demonstrated success negotiating and managing problems to positive resolution
  • Direct experience evaluating and reporting progress in terms of quality, financial management and performance metrics
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate complex details in writing and verbally

Required Qualifications

  • 6+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: project management, implementation, or strategic planning


Desired Qualifications

  • Ability to interact with integrity and a high level of professionalism with all levels of team members and management
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • A BS/BA degree or higher


Other Desired Qualifications
  • Knowledge and understanding of retirement
  • 401K recordkeeping product knowledge
  • Trust, custody, brokerage, and/or trading knowledge/experience
