Are you passionate about the chance to bring your extensive training experience to a world-class company that is market-leading for both content and technology? We’re looking for a Curriculum Experience Designer to join our Thomson Reuters Legal products team.

The Curriculum Experience Designer will collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) to determine customer learning needs, design training structure and strategy, and collaborate on the creation of high quality learning materials while partnering with internal partners and any necessary external vendors to manage the content production and delivery process. The role is focused on eLearning content development and design for products and programs within Legal Professional Services. This position also shares responsibility for the management of learning asset deployment. This position reports to the Manager, Strategic Training & eLearning.

The ideal candidate will have experience with the creation and management of learning programs.

Description of Work

Partner with cross-functional team of subject matter experts across Professional Services, Marketing, and Product Management as appropriate to develop and maintain on-demand training materials for the following products, including, but not limited to: 3E and Prolaw.

About the Role

As a Curriculum Experience Designer, you will:

  • Drive creation and maintenance of world class, eLearning experiences based on customers’ workflow and busines requirements in partnership with Manager, Strategic Training & eLearning
  • Participate in needs analysis, design, scripting, build, testing implementation, and evaluation of digital learning materials
  • Manage projects from start to finish in collaboration with various internal teams and any necessary external vendors
  • Co-develop training standards and identify measurement tools to assess effectiveness of training materials
  • Manage internal communications and resources that enable teams to efficiently and effectively share training materials with Legal customers
  • Edit and review video tutorial scripts to ensure quality and consistency
  • Edit and review quick reference guide materials to ensure quality and consistency
  • Find creative solutions to design eLearning offerings that are relevant, engaging, and effective for our customers.
  • Continuously build personal knowledge of training trends and eLearning and digital training technology developments to identify the best format/channel to serve digital training based on customer needs
  • Continuously build knowledge of the Legal products and customers to ensure training content being delivered is up to date and providing value to our customers
  • Serve as a key member in future Learning Management System strategy

To be our Curriculum Experience Designer, you will likely:

  • BA/BS degree in English, Journalism, Technical Communications, Informatics, Computer Science, Business, Human Resources, or equivalent experience
  • Experience in IT, instructional design, or training development
  • Experience producing training content
  • Proficiency in Camtasia, Adobe Creative Suite, Adobe Captivate, HTML, and other website management tools
  • Knowledge and working experience with learning management systems (LMS) and content management systems.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and collaboration tools such as Teams and SharePoint
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, specifically writing and/or editing instructional text and audio/video scripts
  • Creative thinker, open to change, and learns quickly when facing new problems
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Proven project management and organization skills
  • Ability to learn and leverage multiple technologies to execute work product
  • Comfortable reaching out to partners to gather necessary information when additional product expertise is needed
  • Demonstrated ability to act with autonomy and independence while fulfilling priorities and meeting critical deadlines
  • Generate and champion new ideas and collaboration across the organization
