About the Role


Reporting to the APAC Treasury Funding Manager, the main function of this role is to obtain cost effective wholesale funding for Wells Fargo’s APAC entities. This role will also be responsible for liquidity, interest rate and FX risk management of the Wells Fargo bank branches and legal entities in APAC. This is an opportunity to get hands-on experience regarding how the bank manages its funding and liquidity across banking platforms.
As a key member of Multi-currency Treasury (MCT), this role will be working closely with the APAC business lines and support functions across a range of key responsibilities. MCT are part of the first line of defense and this role will lead to opportunities to expand the candidate’s knowledge in other areas including the bank’s balance sheet, operational risk as well as controls.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the liquidity, interest rate and FX risk management of the WFBNA branches and WF Commercial Distribution Finance entities in APAC.
  • Provide funding in various currencies using derivatives, deposits, inter-company borrowing et cetera.
  • Ensure APAC branches are efficiently and effectively funded.
  • Ensure respective market risk & interest rate risk exposures are hedged per the stated risk appetite statements.
  • Ensure liquidity levels are managed in compliance with the internal risk appetite and the regulatory limits.
  • Provide daily reports and market intelligence to management and different teams.
  • Advise business lines by providing market color including the costs of funding in various currencies.
  • Support of teams (Finance and Accounting, Regulatory Reporting, Risk) involved in liquidity and other reporting requirements.
  • Support internal and regulatory Treasury reporting practices as well as develop and automate new requirements

Market Skills and Certifications


Requirements

  • At least 3 years in financial institutions in treasury, funding, accounting or other relevant functions. Candidates from risk management areas with strong market knowledge will also be considered.
  • Previous exposure to liquidity ratio management and regulatory requirements affecting the bank is an advantage. Be familiar with a broad array of financial markets including, but not limited to, fixed income, foreign exchange and interest rate derivatives.
  • Identify and drive changes to improve the current model and processes. Ability to respond to evolving markets, regulatory and balance sheet requirements
  • Excellent numeracy, modelling and analytical skills;
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated PC skills, Microsoft Office; Knowledge in macros/VBA is an advantage.
  • Ability to work under pressure and multi task; Strong attention to detail and ability to follow through on tasks
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills, with ability to prioritize effectively.
  • Self-motivated individual who can work as part of a team or individually on tasks with minimal direction.
  • Good English and Mandarin skills, both written and spoken
