With that, we are excited to say we’re hiring! We are actively seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Merchant Platforms team in our new Seattle office. This team focuses on building new and innovative ways to scale the number of merchants working with Honey.

You will be joining a newly formed team on a critical mission to automate, streamline and scale merchant integration within Honey and several closely related, strategic PayPal initiatives. The team is an integral part of Honey’s Merchant Platform which is a comprehensive and intelligent solution for every aspect of our Merchant lifecycle. This team will be working on, owning and responsible for a significant part of the engine fueling Honey’s business strategy flywheel.

As a full-stack engineer, you will be in charge of the design and implementation of a wide spectrum of components within the Merchant vertical – from internal and external web tools, to API integration and design, flow management, visualization of data and more. Your team will work directly with product managers, UX designers and data scientists. You will actively participate in all aspects of software engineering, design, implementation, release and operational excellence.

Your Responsibilities :

  • Build, operate and maintain critical Merchant Platform components with emphasis on resilience at PayPal-level scale
  • Design, implement, review, and test code in a collaborative environment with 2-5 other software engineers
  • Contribute to all aspects of Software Engineering within your team and Honey at large. Collaborate on, influence, evolve ideas and best practices
  • Partner with product management to establish business requirements and convert them into robust technical solutions
  • Own all aspects of your software engineering craft, from inception to steady operation

About You:

  • 5 years of software engineering or comparable industry experience
  • Skills with established technologies and curiosity towards emerging ones (Golang, JavaScript/Node.js)
  • Experience with modern JavaScript frameworks (React, Angular, Vue, etc.)
  • Experience building user-facing web applications connected to scalable systems
  • You use a modern version-control system for your source code repository - e.g., Git, Mercurial, GitHub, BitBucket
  • You know what parts of your code require tests (and write those tests)
  • You know about continuous integration systems like Travis, Jenkins, or CircleCI
  • You have built monitoring and alerting for your production systems
  • You are familiar with microservice architecture and Agile development methodology
  • You are willing and able to deploy, troubleshoot, and maintain your systems in production
  • You have great verbal and written communication skills

Nice-to-Have Qualifications:

  • CS degree or equivalent
  • Passion for online shopping (or at least like a deal)
  • Experience with Google Cloud Platform, CircleCI, Node.js, NPM, Git, GitHub, Golang, Kubernetes, Docker
  • Experience with React
  • Experience with GraphQL
