Job Description

KPMG is currently seeking a Managing Director in Forensic - Investigations for our Consulting practice.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead business and market development efforts including identifying opportunities, developing relationships, scoping prospective engagements, and developing proposals
  • Contribute to industry and regulatory publications, write professional articles, and speak about current compliance issues at external seminars; Advise on special projects and emerging issues related to disaster recovery
  • Manage and deliver technical advisory services related to relief programs for disaster recovery including program design and management for all recovery efforts, ensuring regulatory and process compliance in order to maximize funding and expedite rebuilding, and safeguarding program integrity
  • Develop and implement strategies designated to maximize federal and state disaster assistance; provide policy advice on federal disaster relief programs and develop long term recovery plans as an approach to reconstruction and cost relocation/mitigation strategies
  • Develop and maintain relationships with a large number of senior management at state and local government agencies, positioning self and the firm for opportunities to generate new business; proactively participate in business development efforts for primary target clients within disaster locations
  • Establish standards by which deliverables are measured, understand the process used to create and review deliverables against established standards and identify gaps and root causes
  • Serve as a leader in recruiting and retention efforts to develop the practice

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 12 years recent and applicable experience in a compliance or project/program management related role, working with Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and Community Development Block Grant – Disaster Recovery (CDBG-DR)
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university; Certified Emergency Manager experienced with Xactimate or other estimating software is preferred coupled with current and thorough knowledge of federal laws, rules and regulations associated with federal and state disaster aid programs
  • Demonstrated ability to identify business opportunities, lead project engagements, attract new business, and build lasting professional relationships with senior client executives as well as relevant experience in project management and the full life-cycle of a project with the following areas: Texas, Gulf Coast, South East, Louisiana, the Carolinas, Georgia, California, Washington, or Oregon
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to gain the confidence and respect of senior level executives
  • Travel may be up to 80-100%
  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future
