As a Gogo Business Aviation Full Stack Developer you will contribute to a development team creating a media server/entertainment system for the aviation industry. Think Netflix streaming on airplanes!

How will you make a difference?

• Full-stack software developer who can contribute to client side and server-side technologies
• Rearchitecting monolithic architecture into microservices. Looking to modernize our backend/frontend applications
• Flexibility of choosing your own languages/frameworks
• Developing web services consumable by single page web application
• Hands on Development Position – 80% of time coding
• Provide Level of Effort estimates for requirements
• Troubleshoot defects and code resolutions
• Guide implementation of best practices for application design/development
• Strong XP/SCRUM/Agile work ethic – Ability to contribute productively to a fast-paced development team, delivering demonstrable code in two-week increments
• Ability to comprehensively unit tests your code
• Contribute to a healthy and collaborative development team with a “Get it Done” work ethic
• Proven ability to negotiate timeline and architecture across functional teams

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Computer Science
• 2+ years of professional experience with Java/OOP Languages
• 2+ years of professional experience with Linux

Required Skills, Experience and Talents

• Strong understanding of object-oriented programming
• Proficient with Java, Spring Boot, and Jersey
• Proficient with JavaScript, Node.js, HTML5, CSS, EcmaScript
• Experience with AWS, including EC2, Lambda, and S3
• Experience using SCM tools such as Git. Understanding of the Git workflow
• Experience with scripting in a Linux environment (Bash, Python)
• Experience with tools like Junit, Mockito, Spock, Jest, Karma, Jasmine
• Understanding of microservices general patterns and practices
• Familiarity with build tools like Maven, Gradle, Babel and Webpack

Desirable Skills, Experience and Talents

• Knowledge of continuous integration using Jenkins
• Knowledge of Docker containers and container orchestration
• Comfortable using IntelliJ based Java development IDE to perform daily development tasks
• Experience and/or interest in aviation and/or Telecommunications

Compensation: $107,000 - $128,000

Target Annual Incentive: 10% of base compensation
