Business Systems Analyst (EPIC Applications) - Posting #21610

Position Summary:

Full-time position available for our EPIC Applications Department in Seattle, South Park. We are looking for an experienced business systems analyst with primary area of responsibility in support of electronic health records systems as well as technology projects. System analysis in support of multiple business and external regulatory compliance requirements is necessary for this position. Must have extensive direct vendor coordination of enhancements and upgrades including testing, validation and resolution of production issues.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide daily and ongoing technical support as required by the end user community resolving application issues, including but not limited to ticket escalation, vendor technical support, and change request.
  • Maintain an active communication with application vendors for prompt response to problems and emergencies.
  • Provide after-hours (on-call) support on rotating basis with other staff members.
  • As the SME, support training as required assisting with training documentation preparation as well as, on an as needed basis, conducting end user training.
  • Process Improvement: Configure and maintain application modules in coordination with vendors and IT Infrastructure. Performing related upgrades, migration and data conversion in coordination with vendors and the infrastructure team.
  • Under supervision, install, configure and test new product introductions.
  • Maintain software with respect to revisions, updates and upgrades. Completing test scripts and procedures to ensure compliance with current standards.
  • Maintain and document all modifications, enhancements and changes to Epic.
  • Report development including modification and additions; maintaining version control of reports and their associated code as appropriate.
  • In coordination with the IT Applications Supervisor, review current IT policies and assist with revisions or enhancements as needed.
  • Present periodic and ad hoc reports to management and/or organization committees.
  • Perform business process analysis related to current and developing technologies.
  • Ensure that applications meet business requirements and fulfill end-user requests.
  • Collaborate with system administrators, network and telecom administrators to identify and resolve systems issues.
  • Participate/lead internal governance meetings for change and enhancement request.
  • Design and development of new forms/tools in Epic with the collaboration of vendor and department leaders.
  • Collaborate with managers and stakeholders in testing new applications, upgrades, and build requests.
  • Research and make recommendations on software products and services in support of development efforts and assist in contract negotiations as needed.
  • Cultivate and disseminate knowledge of best practices for application usage and HIPAA standards.
  • Complete other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience)
  • Minimum 3 years medical/dental/behavior health application support or closely related applications
  • Minimum 2 years of experience with system integration or equivalent
  • Epic Certification in one or more modules (Ambulatory, Cadence/Prelude, Wisdom, etc.)
  • Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws including HIPAA and TJC
  • Knowledge of client/server technology as well as LAN/WAN network concepts
  • Excellent skills with Microsoft Office products
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated history of working independently
  • Knowledge of SDLC
  • Vendor management experience

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Project Management experience
  • System Integration and interface experience
  • Demonstrated understanding of SQL and SQL reporting
  • AD/Security group experience
