Who You'll Work With

You will join our McKinsey Transformation team in Waltham or Dallas. McKinsey Transformation (MT) is a special unit that delivers a proven approach for transformational change to clients seeking radical and sustainable performance improvement. Over the last 10 years, we have worked with more than 300 organizations around the world and across sectors. Most of our clients are driven by a desire to capture untapped potential; others face significant external challenges or industry discontinuities.We are not ordinary consultants. We are specialists in transformative business improvement. In addition to being counselors to our clients, we act as coaches, pushing our clients to do more than they thought was possible.As coaches, we work with our clients, giving them access to the latest and greatest McKinsey expertise and the tools to be successful. Typical workstreams in our transformations include: commercial/marketing and sales, procurement/vendor management, support functions reorganization, operational excellence, supply chain optimization, working capital management, etc.

What You'll Do

You will apply your data engineering skills to transform clients, solve real-life complex problems and deliver long term sustainable impact.In this role, you’ll work across all various phases of a McKinsey Transformation project and get a complete 360 degree experience of our work. You will work with clients and McKinsey teams to set-up and execute a best in class transformation office (Project Management Office).You will support your clients with hands-on analysis and will run and facilitate workshops, idea generation sessions and trainings. You will be an integral part of a diverse client service team, working with the client on a daily basis.You will work alongside team members from clients, client project teams and multiple firm capabilities. You will ensure seamless delivery, provide guidance and leadership to teams on analytics and build client capabilities by using the latest firm developments in technology. #LI-DNI

Qualifications

  • Advanced degree (MS, MA) in computer science, mathematics/statistics, engineering, or physics) or commensurate work experience
  • 3+ years of hands-on work experience using analytical tools to solve real-world problems
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to disaggregate issues, identify root causes, and recommend solutions
  • Strong knowledge of fundamental business concepts (e.g. operations research and statistical techniques)
  • Ability to work with and effectively coach a diverse group of team members
  • Detail-oriented and with the ability to work under pressure
  • Highly pragmatic, focused on achieving outcomes and impact
  • Entrepreneurial and proactively thinking about potential process improvements
  • Willingness to travel to various client locations throughout North America
