Who You'll Work With

You’ll be joining the Chicago or Waltham office, and part of the McKinsey ClienTech team on a 12-month contract.You will work closely with ClienTech’s lead of vendor management, internal functions and external suppliers and lead the contract review process to mitigate the firm’s risk in vendor arrangements.McKinsey ClienTech fosters innovation driven by technology, analytics, design thinking, mobile and social by developing new products and services and integrating them into our client work. You will work with various software engineers, product managers, systems engineers, designers, infrastructure and security professionals as well as asset technical services. You will be part of a core function that provides central engineering services for our solutions including product development, technology strategy and cloud based hosting.

What You'll Do

You will provide guidance and advice to stakeholders on all aspects of contract lifecycle – from structuring agreements and negotiating deal terms, through to contract review and execution. You will bring your expertise in commercial (non-legal) terms and collaborate with the Legal team on legal terms to ensure an appropriate level of risk. You will lead multiple contract reviews simultaneously, following processes and best practices. You will escalate complex issues as necessary for prompt resolution. Additionally, you will track and report on data, and recommend ongoing process improvements to further reduce risk and add value. #LI-DNI

Qualifications

  • University degree required; business, economics, law, English major(s) preferred
  • Minimum five years of relevant contract management experience, with demonstrated history of managing complex issues and understanding of legal processes/principles and commercial best practices
  • Experience navigating functional requirements of a large global corporation (finance, accounting, procurement) and related business drivers like budgeting and ROI metrics
  • Relevant experience with the information technology sector, including related confidentiality, data security and privacy issues
  • Superior drafting, negotiation and communication skills
  • Ability to learn quickly, work independently, and proceed with objectives without supervision
  • Complex problem solving and analytical skills, ability to quickly identify challenges and confidence to clearly articulate creative, practical solutions, even when dealing with demanding stakeholders or a high degree of ambiguity;
  • Experience in building effective and collaborative relationships with internal stakeholders, in-house legal, subject matter experts and third party vendors to move projects forward while meeting deadlines
