Responsibilities

Role Overview: Primary responsibility is to drive Financial Performance of APAC through close collaboration with APAC management team , countries’ Finance Heads as well as Global Finance team.

Specifically, under the guidance of the Regional Finance Director for Asia-Pacific, the Finance Manager will lead all activities related to strategic planning and analysis, annual profit plan, and monthly management reporting and forecasting, with a view to achieve the company’s long term business objectives.

The role has 1 direct report, Senior Finance Analyst – Malaysia & Thailand

Key Accountabilities

  • Provide the APAC Management Leadership team with business insights, analysis and recommendations that will achieve the profit plan targets (both sales and earnings)
  • Review, evaluate and challenge all store proformas and ensure reasonableness and achievable targets
  • Partner closely with Finance Director to lead Long Range Planning process, and management members to consolidate the plans and presentations to Senior Management
  • Drive improvements in Annual Profit Plan process and ensure that budgets are consistent with Company directions and maintained within agreed limits.
  • Drive the Finance team out into the Business to work as value-added partners with retail leadership in each market
  • Ensure that countries’ finance understand and support the overall APAC/global strategic initiatives
  • Act as liaison between countries and global FP&A on financial matters and communications
  • Appoint or act as the Finance representative on cross-functional business groups and project teams
  • Act proactively to minimize reporting efforts and to focus on the analysis
  • Set the right tone of compliance and governance throughout the company at all levels, and ensure the development and management of strong controls, designed to support and safeguard the business.
  • Play a key role in the integration especially in financial reporting changes due to the merger

Qualifications

Required

  • Degree holder in Accounting / Finance with international accounting qualification.
  • 8-12+ years of working experience with +3 years of managerial experience
  • Retail experience, preferably in luxury industry
  • Excellent analytical and mathematical acumen. Proficient with mathematical modeling techniques for scenario testing and goal setting.
  • Good interpersonal skill, team player, self-motivated and analytical mind.
  • Strong project focus including attention to detail and consistent follow-through.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • High level of self-management and ability to function amidst tight deadlines and changing priorities.
  • Ability to prioritize and work in a highly dynamic, fast paced and team-oriented environment.
  • Ability to:
    • Extract complex data and analyze it to monitor business performance and identify trends
    • Translate operational metrics into financial performance
    • Present ad hoc and formal presentations to Executive audience
  • Strong Microsoft Word, Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills.

Preferrred

  • Experience with Business Objects and Hyperion.
  • MBA or advanced degree
  • CPA or ACCA
