This position is for a Supply Chain Operations Support (SOS) role to lead the charge in improving the operation performance of suppliers. There are no limits to the level of engagement within Suppliers or Collins to plan and execute actions to eliminate hardware delivery & quality situations. This position works with limited supervision to achieve day-to-day objectives impacting supply chain and Power & Controls strategies and operation goals. Every supplier situation requires specialized engagement with Collins colleagues, the SOS Team coordinates non supply chain disciplines on a regular basis. SOS Teams gather and assimilate supplier risk assessments and performance measurements, develop & analyze key performance indicators to drive short term and long term improvements in collaboration with suppliers and Collins Leadership & Colleagues.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provides expertise to one or more Supply Chain disciplines in implementations and process execution.
  • Performs supply chain activities that cannot be attributed to a defined discipline.
  • Provides inputs based on issues faced in day-to-day operations; Executes approved initiatives under guidance of supervisor.
  • Resolves general queries from internal and external stakeholders.
  • Adheres to import, export, and excise regulation as per compliance.
  • Contributes to changes or enhancements to supply chain management processes and systems.
  • May perform delivery assurance responsibilities.
  • Monitors contract performance to ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
  • Assesses supplier qualifications including training and certifications and devise corrective action plans for improved perform and/or overcome any deficiencies.
  • Works with suppliers’ internal teams to coordinate procurement and shipment of supplies to customer requirements.
  • Monitors supplier performance and applies sustainable countermeasures to facilitate improvement.
  • In coordination with Collins Buyer, contacts suppliers to schedule or expedite deliveries to ensure resolution of problems such as shortages and missed or late deliveries.
  • Assess, make Plans, organizes, directs and reports all activities and matters relating to supplier performance.
  • Conducts and participates in production readiness assessments for New Product Introduction, Transitions, including capacity confirmation to ensure a timely ramp-up to production volumes.
  • Collaborates with suppliers to identify and remove barriers to the implementation of Continuous Improvement projects to improve on-time delivery and quality.
  • Conducts on-site and remote assessments with the buyers, industrial, regional performance team, quality, and engineering teams to drive supplier improvement.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of relevant experience OR
  • Advance degree and 3 years of relevant experience OR
  • In absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience is required
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Previous Contracts, Supply Chain or Procurement experience/ related

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in the Aerospace Industry or directly for Collins Aerospace
  • Experience in working with suppliers
  • Project/program Management
  • Experience developing suppliers and supplier relationships
  • Knowledge of supply chain management in the Aerospace organization
  • Ability to lead in a collaborative team environment
  • Shop floor/operations knowledge for 3+ years
  • LEAN/Continuous improvement experience for 1 year
