QA Test Engineer - DevOps - MarTech Platforms

In this role, you will be a key member of Vanguard’s DevSecOps Engineering team within the Enterprise MarTech Platforms organization. This team is responsible for driving continuous improvement, automation, security, and release management best practices across the software development lifecycle as new MarTech platforms and capabilities are planned and implemented across Vanguard divisions. As a QA Engineer, you will interpret business use cases, marketing platform, requirements and solution designs to develop overall testing strategies, end-to-end test plans and scenarios in support of Agile MarTech delivery initiatives.

In this high visibility role, you will:

• Participate in applicable client and development team meetings (i.e., project kick off, release and sprint planning meetings, daily scrums, defect tracking or bug triage meetings, sprint review/retrospectives, etc.) to fully understand the technology and functionality of the MarTech platform initiative
• Develop test scenarios and test plans based on a solid understanding of Vanguard business requirements, marketing use cases, user stories, or technology solution designs
• Convert functional requirements into test cases and executable test scripts
• Verify acceptance criteria based on user stories
• Generating test data in multiple environments (if needed)
• Maintain the speed, velocity, and flexibility necessary to provide testing services in Agile DevOps environments
• Write test cases from unit test level to functional, based on your understanding of requirements and how they relate to actual needs
• Work with DevOps Security Engineers to understand security requirements; run security scans using tools like Jenkins and interpret the results to be fed back in as improvements to the design of the martech platform
• Develop scripts to automate continuous security and performance testing to support roll-out of new MarTech platform capability initiatives
• Conduct system performance testing to ensure system reliability, capacity, scaleability
• Analyze test results and coordinate with development teams for defect fixes
• Support general DevSecOps team responsibilities:
• Formalize and execute DevSecOps practices and culture across Vanguard
• Streamline and automate software development processes with the right tools, via continuous integration, deployment, testing
• Support infrastructure testing and development efforts
• Identify impacts and dependencies of a new platform launch to existing infrastructure
• Support a continuous build environment to accelerate software development and deployment process
• Understands big picture, remove bottlenecks through suitable methods
• Collaborate with Engineering and Product to translate business and technical requirements into architectural designs and feature releases

What it takes:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent combination of training and experience
• 5+ years of experience in Testing and Quality Assurance Management with technical solutions
• 5+ years of experience with performing manual, automated, and regression testing in all areas of the SDLC, including front end, back end, and middleware
• 1+ years of experience with Cloud based DevOps practices, automation and delivery
• You have comprehensive knowledge of Continuous Integration/Continuous Development (CI/CD) protocols, processes, and deployment automation tools.
• Knowledge of Linux based systems
• Knowledge of automation tools, including Selenium and Cucumber
• Hands on experience in creating and maintaining CI/CD pipelines
• Extensive experience with and a real passion for Agile (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe), Lean, Extreme Programming (XP)
• Desired technologies: Angular JS, Pivotal Cloud Foundry, REST-based web services, Linux, AWS
• Analytical and detail-oriented
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Additional Qualifications:

Experience in the financial services industry

Experience with Atlassian suite (Jira, Bitbucket, Bamboo, Confluence), Git, Maven, Jenkins, Selenium, Nexus, Artifactory
