Purpose of Job
We are seeking a talented Life Insurance IT Systems Analyst Senior for our San Antonio, TX facility.
The candidate selected will be working on the Life Modernization program team in our Life Insurance line of business. As an IT analyst on the program team they will assist the product owners and systems engineers in prepping features for execution, will use their analytical skills to help determine business outcomes and will provide ad hoc data analysis around business and IT process optimization.
Provides liaising services between business and IT delivery functions for the purpose of enabling the on-boarding, enhancement and support of systems, applications and other technology solutions. Assesses evolving business requirements to include establishing, evaluating and validating technical requirements. Recommends alternatives and/or enhancements to existing technology solutions. Researches and helps resolve production issues and defects.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Identifies and manages existing and emerging risks that stem from business activities and the job role.
- Ensures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled.

- Leads traceability of approved and base lined artifacts through the software development life cycle to include specifications, design, development, testing, implementation and defect prioritization.
- Provides guidance and review of test artifacts to ensure coverage of testable requirements.
- Provides certification and actively participates in defect management activities to confirm requirements are being met.
- Contributes to project successes by partnering with Program Management to understand program plans and strategy.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree or 4 additional years of related experience beyond the minimum in lieu of a degree.
- 6 years of related work experience such as business and/or project management, business/system requirements, and technical analysis.
- Advanced knowledge of multiple software delivery life cycles (Waterfall and Agile).
- Advanced working knowledge of business productivity products, tools, and applications.
- Advanced understanding of system architecture and knowledge of software development concepts.
- Experience of modeling techniques (e.g.UML) and use case development as well as experience with one or more software development frameworks.

Preferred Experience:
- 2 plus years of experience working with a program team, product manager/DPO role and the system architect roles.
- Prior experience of Tableau or similar tools to create dashboards or other types of analyses to determine business value delivered and team performance.
- Life Insurance industry Experience
- 2 years of experience working with a SAFe program team

Compensation:
USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market position. The salary range for this position is: $80,200 - $144,500*( this does not include geographic differential it may be applied based on your work location)
Employees may be eligible for pay incentives based on overall corporate and individual performance or at the discretion of the USAA Board of Directors.
*Geographical Differential: Geographic pay differential is additional pay provided to eligible employees working in locations where market pay levels are above the national average.
Shift premium: will be addressed on an individual-basis for applicable roles that are consistently scheduled for non-core hours.
