Rockall - A Broadridge Business (Broadridge Ireland) is looking for a Site Reliability Engineer to join our SRE team supporting a modern FinTech SaaS platform and help build, operate, and manage our client’s SaaS environments.

Role Responsibilities

Help to build and operate highly reliable production environments hosted on public cloud infrastructure. Be responsible for availability, latency, performance, efficiency, monitoring, emergency response, and capacity planning

Continually improve our operations, deployment and provisioning tools through automation and all processes, and contribute to improvements in upstream development.

Monitor security, stability, and performance of customer environments

Work closely with our Development and Customer Success teams to provide operational support to our clients. Champion security, reliability, and performance.

Participate in ‘out of hours’ on-call rotation and solve site issues.

Qualifications

Required

• Proven experience in SRE, DevOps, Systems Administrator, or similar role for 2-4 years
• Experience working with Linux systems
• Knowledge of networking fundamentals and configuration
• Exposure to AWS based infrastructure
• Familiarity with database administration
• Strong troubleshooting skills across different parts of the stack
• Automation mentality with some automation/scripting experience
• Understanding systems performance, tuning, and monitoring
• Good understanding of standard methodologies for operating a secure environment on a public cloud
• Strong communication skills
• Relevant 3rd level degree and/or equivalent work experience and/or professional qualification
• High standard of English
• Eligible to work in Ireland
• Based in Ireland

• Amazon Linux (RHEL/CentOS/Fedora) and/or Ubuntu (Debian)
• Shell (BASH) and CLI Tools (e.g. AWS CLI, jq)
• Databases (e.g. SQL like PostgreSQL and NoSQL like DynamoDB)
• Source control and continuous integration (e.g. Git, GitLab, GitHub)
• Modern programming languages (e.g. Python, Java, Ruby, JavaScript, Go, Rust)
• Container technologies (e.g. Docker)
• Container orchestration (e.g. Nomad, Kubernetes)
• Infrastructure provisioning (e.g. Terraform, CloudFormation)
• Configuration management (e.g. Ansible, Chef, Puppet)
• Monitoring and alerting systems (e.g. CloudWatch, Prometheus & Grafana, Datadog)
• Build and deployment (e.g. Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, AWS CodeBuild)
