Power Architect working for one of the top companies in the world.
IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL:
• Lead and coordinate technical design changes
• Be responsible for Power Subsystem architectures
• Estimate major Power parameters
• Conduct and support engineering reviews, design reviews, Program Management Reviews (PMR), Engineering Material Review Board (EMRB) hardware discrepancy decisions, and Failure Review Board (FRB) as required.
• Resolve test anomalies and troubleshooting, and generation, review, and presentation of Product Certification, and support system level testing.
• Manage risk and identify mitigation plans to meet productivity, quality, cost, schedule, and mission success objectives.
• Plans research & development programs and recommends technological application programs to accomplish long-range objectives.
• Serve as top consultant to top management in long-range planning concerning new or projected areas of technical research and advancements. Prime spokesperson for the business on highly significant matters relating to research, engineering matters, programs, and technical capabilities.
The ideal candidate for this position will:
• Have knowledge of space power subsystems.
• Have a project lead track record of success in meeting technical, schedule, and cost objective is desired.
• Have excellent written and verbal communication skills with personnel of various skill levels, technical backgrounds, management, and customers.
• Have previously worked on integrated product teams.
• Have familiarity with next-generation space power electronics technologies and their maturity for incorporation into future space power systems
• Enjoy working in a manufacturing and test environment with hands-on hardware interaction.

TS/SCI clearance, thus

Basic Qualifications:• Bachelor of Science or higher from an accredited college in Electrical Engineering or related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education.
• Demonstrated experience in power supply design.
• Experience of bus architectures typically found in space (satellite or missile) systems.
• Previous or current Product Engineer or equivalent experience.
• Experience with circuit design and circuit analysis.
• Demonstrated experience with space and / or missile power systems requirements, architecture, design, analysis, manufacturing, integration, and/or test.
• Willing and able to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance, thus US Citizenship is required for this position.
Desired Skills:• Experience in design for Class A (National Asset) to Class D (experimental) power systems including; knowledge/experience developing/testing regulated, and battery dominated power architectures inclusive of solar arrays, power distribution, and power conversion inclusive of nominal and off-nominal operations.
• Proven understanding of electronics standards and processes.
• Component / Unit level manufacturing & testing experience.
• Experience with circuit board layout and circuit analysis.
• Demonstrated strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
• Able to work effectively in a diverse team
environment.
• Working familiarity and established contacts with supply chain partners.
• Previous or current Certified Product Engineer (CPE) or equivalent experience.
• Preparation for and participation in major program design reviews (Preliminary Design Review, Critical Design Review, Manufacturing Design Review, Test Readiness Review).
• Cradle to delivery Power subsystem Certified Principal Engineer (CPE)/Responsible Systems Engineer (RSE) experience on a large (NASA Class A/B) program inclusive of make/buy parts selection, requirements analysis, design, development, production, and verification.
• Familiarity with all LM Space Family of satellites (LM2100/LM1000/LM400/LM50) as well as Radio Frequency (RF) Center of Excellence (COE) / Optical (OP) COE payload products.
• Experience with Zuken, PSPICE, LTSPICE, MATLAB, MATHCAD, LABVIEW or similar products.
• Electronics worst case analysis (eWCA) experience.
• Experience with software based Li-Ion battery charge control algorithms.
• Experience developing power budgets for space vehicles including multiple mission orbits, LEO, GEO, MEO, HEO, Deep Space.
