Product Manager Mechanical Keyboards

The Product Manager Keyboards will lead us in defining and managing the Keyboard portfolio, through community engagement, tactical foresight and experience to develop roadmaps, identify market shifts, forecast planning and effective product positioning. The Product Manager Keyboards should have a demonstrated ability to create and defend compelling points of view, using this to inform solutions and future development, validating throughout the process from idea to implementation. This role will report directly to the VP of Product working closely with Product and Project Managers, Product Realization, Design and Marketing/Creative to further strategic cross functional focus and innovation.

This is a remote position and may be based anywhere in the United States or Canada.

Responsibilities

  • Define mandates to inform product scope and design direction
  • Identify trends and innovations within the mechanical keyboard community
  • Build keyboard road maps, long range plans, forecasts to create path for reaching fiscal goals
  • Work closely with project management team to establish project budgets
  • Take part in design and prototype reviews, confirming and validating all mandates and criteria are met
  • Work closely and build healthy relationships with product realization team and contract manufacturers
  • Technical advisor as needed throughout development process
  • Plan, coordinate, and implement production schedules to meet forecasts
  • Create an efficient infrastructure for collaboration process keyboards
  • Balance delivering pipeline sanctioned projects with R&D innovative thinking
  • Launch support and management of product discussions, providing direction, focus and assets as needed to cross functional teams
  • Clear communication / translation of market needs, community mandates, qualifying a strong sense of trend to preemptively address portfolio and product vision

Qualifications

  • Understanding and passion for product, with emphasis on Mechanical Keyboards
  • 5-7 years experience developing consumer electronics products. Equivalent experience in mechanical engineering, molding and C & C process, electrical engineering a plus
  • Experience working with overseas manufacturing and deep understanding of process timelines and the realities of project planning
  • Development background and speaks design language is highly desirable
  • Successfully brought products to Market, high level portfolio management experience
  • Ability to pitch DROP’s concepts to external teams and reach mutually beneficial partnerships
  • Strong interpersonal skills working, communicating and collaborating with cross functional teams
  • Solid analytical skills with an ability to gather, analyze, and quickly evaluate information to objectively craft and support recommendations from research and enthusiast experience
  • Should be highly adaptable, capable of quickly rallying teammates around ideas, concepts and community mandates
  • Experience with growth, taking company to greater selection and higher volumes (x10)
