About the Role

DoorDash is growing at a rapid rate and we’re looking for a Senior Manager, Human Resources to join our People team. At DoorDash, people are our most important asset. The HR team works closely with our business leaders to align people and strategy. Our HR team assess, coach, and influence the business as we scale and evolve to enable our teams to accomplish amazing things.

The Senior Manager, Human Resources for Australia is responsible for enabling market-level growth and success through the design and implementation of a suite of People team programs, resources, and coaching. This role will be a key partner to senior leadership in building our foundational people strategy with an eye for scale -- and will be responsible for shaping the global operating model as we evolve across the globe. They will deliver day-to-day HR support to employees, ensuring that the company upholds best practices, remains legislatively compliant and can work with others to maintain a cohesive, productive, and positive work environment and strong team culture.

We need a versatile, quick-thinking team member to define and develop all aspects of the employee lifecycle in a fast-growing market. They will partner closely with key People Centers of Excellence such as HRBP & Employee Relations; Recruiting; Compensation & Benefits; Legal; Culture, Belonging and People Growth; and People Operations in the delivery of HR solutions in the areas of Organisational Design and Effectiveness; Workforce Planning; Performance Management; Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion; and Employee Relations and Compliance.

This role reports to the Director of International Launch + HRBPs. They will support a cross-functional team and work directly with the GM of Australia as their thought partner on all things people.

  • Take action and be a voice for employees within your market to deliver a rewarding and compliant employee lifecycle, from onboarding to benefits to performance development.
  • Coach business group leadership on people strategy, including team structure (organisational design), strategic hiring, performance management, compensation, recognition, and learning and development.
  • Empower people managers to build amazing teams.
  • Develop and execute employee relations efforts. This will include planning and coaching executives and managers on best practices.
  • Lead business groups through DoorDash’s people programs (engagement surveys, performance reviews, compensation reviews, talent development, etc.).
  • Develop and enforce our HR policies and procedures specific to the market.
  • Coach people managers in areas such as performance management, leave management, reward/recognition, etc.

We’re excited about you because...

  • You have 10+ years of experience in Human Resources, ideally in an HR Business Partner, Organisational Effectiveness, or Talent Development role.
  • You have experience working in a fast-paced, high-performance culture where the business is constantly evolving.
  • You possess a strong knowledge of local employment law.
  • You have past experience coaching people managers, supporting employees, and navigating employee relations concerns.
  • You have the ability to think critically and anticipate issues before they arise, and proactively suggest long-term solutions.
  • You have excellent judgment and the ability to make sound decisions independently.
  • You enjoy working with data and have a strong working knowledge of Google Sheets/Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, etc.).
  • You have an owner mentality and a bias towards action.
  • You’re naturally curious and have a self-starter personality – you always look for ways to innovate and improve, and don't need to wait for people to tell you what to work on.
  • You’re an outstanding communicator with influencing skills. You have a knack for anticipating the needs of the org and ensuring that the team has what it needs to be successful.
