Wells Fargo Advisors Asset Management Group currently has an opening for a Trading Operations Specialist 2 (TOS 2) with a solid background in the investment industry and zealous attention to detail. This TOS 2 will be part of the Investment Operations team, supporting complex securities transactions. Because this team is responsible for providing support, oversight, and risk management for all of Asset Management, team members are located across the Wells Fargo footprint, including overseas, to ensure support is available at all times. This is a fast paced and deadline driven environment, supporting complex securities and/or over-the-counter (OTC) derivatives transactions. The individual selected for this role will have responsibility to understand and follow procedures, risk management guidelines, regulations and operational standards at all times.

The TOS 2 is involved from the point a trade is executed until it settles smoothly, ensuring accuracy and mitigating risk. Communication is a key to success in this role.

Responsibilities of this position may include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Identifying and resolving trade capture errors
  • Reconciling trade activity between the system of record and any trade-related documentation
  • Ensuring all trade activity is confirmed with counterparties
  • Drafting trade confirmations, amendments, and terminations as needed
  • Researching and resolving complex trade issues, breaks and disputes
  • Demonstrating in-depth knowledge of financial products (securities and/or OTC derivatives)
  • Familiarity with equity, commodity and/or fixed income markets
  • Possessing a solid understanding of trade settlement workflow controls and the effects of operational breakdowns
  • Maintaining a sound understanding of the full front to back process within a trading environment
  • Establishing effective relationships with broker dealers, custodians, internal business partners, and portfolio staff
  • May provide training and guidance to junior level staff

PLEASE NOTE: While this position is based in the US, it will support business in London. Therefore, hours will be approximately 2:00 AM – 11:00 AM central time. A portion of the shift will receive a pay differential due to the hours supported. It is a Monday through Friday role.

ADDITIONAL NOTE: There may be a requirement to work some US holidays, excluding Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.


Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of investment operations experience


Desired Qualifications

  • Customer service focus with experience actively listening, eliciting information, comprehending customer issues/needs, and recommending solutions
  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of cash (domestic and international and physical securities (DTC) settlements)
  • Solid knowledge and understanding of US commodity, equity, and interest rate markets
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook) skills
  • Ability to navigate multiple computer systems, applications, and utilize search tools to find information
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy skills
  • Ability to review and understand ISDA Master and Credit Support Annex agreements
  • Ability to learn and assimilate information from multiple people and sources
  • Effective organizational, multi tasking, and prioritizing skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced deadline driven environment
  • Knowledge and understanding of the trade settlement process
  • Ability to learn and assimilate information from multiple people and sources
  • Knowledge and understanding of financial products: exposure to fixed income securities, derivatives, and foreign exchange
  • Ability to identify and assess issues then make sound decisions
  • Ability to make timely and independent judgment decisions while working in a fast-paced and results-driven environment


Other Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with DTCC ALERT/Central Trade Manager (CTM), FX Connect/GTSS, and Bloomberg AIM
  • Knowledge of Collateral management, EMIR/MiFID reporting, term loans, and Credit Default Swaps

Salary Information

The salary range displayed below is based on a Full-time 40 hour a week schedule.
WI-Menomonee Falls: Min: $55,100 Mid: $76,500 Max: $97,900
MA-Boston: Min: $66,100 Mid: $91,800 Max: $117,500
