Overview

The Director of Advanced Analytics & Data Science will be responsible for establishing & leading the digital and client analytics framework for Tiffany & Co., identifying strategic and new applications of analytics and insights for driving business results including the use of advanced analytics and data science. The director will lead an integrated digital & client analytics team that empowers the organization with analytics and insights that support planning, execution and optimization of marketing activities, client programs, and the digital customer experience. The director will report into the Senior Director, Global Marketing Analytics & Insights, and partner closely with Global Digital Commerce & Omnichannel, Digital Creative, UX, IT and Global Marketing & Regional ecommerce and retail teams to leverage digital and client data and insights to drive best-in-class marketing and optimize retail strategies & programs.

Additionally, this person along with the rest of the Global Marketing Analytics team will act as the “Center of Excellence” to guide the Tiffany & Co. organization on digital and client analytics best practices to drive lifetime customer loyalty & long-term sales growth.

Responsibilities

  • Defining, establishing, socializing and executing the short- and long-term digital and client analytics roadmap for Tiffany & Co. including the organizational model, infrastructure/capabilities, processes, and action plan.
  • Owning Global digital and client reporting process & analysis for the organization – partnering with cross-functional and regional partners to improve our collective understanding of underlying performance drivers, measurement methodology, and growing data sources while delivering actionable insights to inform business decisions.
  • As key analytics expert, championing elevated understanding of digital performance and client behavior, identifying specific areas of opportunities across the Tiffany organization that address key strategic marketing and business needs.
  • Developing data science models and leading digital optimization (e.g. A/B testing) efforts to drive marketing and business initiatives (e.g. personalization) in support of client retention and acquisition and incremental revenue.
  • Accelerating digital transformation for client activations and analytics – e.g. by evaluating and building foundational technology capabilities (Identity Resolution, CDP, Analytic Sandbox etc.) in partnership with IT.
  • Defining roadmap of long terms analytics needs that will accelerate organizational capabilities around digital and client data and new opportunities. Leading and continuously evolving key analytic partner relationships to keep Tiffany’s analytic programs on the cutting edge.
  • Leading and training a cross-functional and global analytics community within Tiffany to increase awareness and enable greater data-driven decision making – through workshops, learning sessions etc.
  • Managing and developing a high-performing team of digital and client analysts (including consultants) that can work across multiple analytics disciplines with ease and produce data-driven, actionable results for business stakeholders. Empowering analyst teams to grow and gain more visibility and experience across topics and stakeholders.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in retail analytics including roles in analytics teams, data science/predictive modeling, and/or management consulting; experience in ecommerce strongly preferred.
  • Bachelor’s Degree needed; Masters in a quantitative discipline (Analytics, Math, Economics etc.) preferred.
  • Experience with modeling techniques and data mining. Proficient with statistical software and manipulating large data sets.
  • Extensive experience with web analytics tools (Adobe, Google Analytics), and tag managers; knowledge of JavaScript & data layer management a plus.
  • Strong experience in using two or more of SAS, R, SQL and Tableau (other analytics tools/languages also applicable – e.g. Python, Alteryx, RapidMiner, Hadoop etc.).
  • Strong ability to quickly and intuitively understand business needs to translate business requirements into analytics, and data into marketing/business insights both verbally and in writing.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and skilled at creating processes in complex and cross-functional environments (e.g. Marketing, IT, Retail, Ecommerce, and consultants) to drive progress; including defining objectives, gathering support and communicating analytics results effectively for senior management.
  • Experience establishing new capabilities and driving change through data and insights.
  • Hands-on, “get-it-done”, results-driven mentality.
