Data Architect - Data Services & Enterprise Data Warehouse

Weedmaps is looking for a hands-on Sr. Data Architect to lead the design, architecture and implementation of our enterprise data warehouse and OLTP databases. You will also assist in database administration, data quality and data governance.

The impact you'll make:

  • Lead the design, architecture and implementation of our enterprise data warehouse
  • Serve as a hands-on data warehousing, database, OLAP/BI, SQL and ETL subject matter expert and thought leader
  • Assist in database administration, data governance, data quality, master data management, metadata management and other database-related tasks.
  • Perform technology and product assessments to drive required infrastructure needs to meet scalability, availability, security and concurrency needs.
  • Cross team collaboration with Product, Analytics and Engineering teams, participate in all phases of SDLC - product requirement gathering, design, development and support.

What you've accomplished:

  • 5+ years experience as a hands-on senior or lead data warehouse architect
  • 10+ years of experience in designing and implementing data warehouses.
  • 10+ years of combined experience in dimensional modeling, OLAP, SQL, business intelligence, database management, big data, ETL, data engineering, etc.
  • Extensive experience in data governance, data quality, master data management, metadata management, data security, data management, etc.
  • Experience in database administration, monitoring, tuning, backup and recovery, security, etc.
  • Project management and agile software development experience (PMI, Scrum, Kanban, etc.)
  • Experience building data integration pipelines, familiarity with ETL, ELT, Change Data Capture (CDC), Streaming and other data processing patterns.
  • Experience with Airflow or similar workflow management solutions.
  • Coding proficiency in at least one modern programming language, Python preferred.
  • Experience with AWS, solid understanding of cloud data services offered and ability to recommend cost effective solutions in and out of the box
  • Strong knowledge of various relational and non-relational database systems (Postgres, ElasticSearch, Redshift, MongoDB, Snowflake, etc), experience with structured and semi structured data.
  • Familiar with big data frameworks and platforms (Databricks, Apache Spark, Hadoop, etc.)
  • Experience with ETL/ELT tools such as Informatica, Talend, Fivetran, Matillion, etc.
  • Experience with streams and event driven patterns is a plus.
  • Excellent documentation and communication skills.
  • Familiar with compliance requirements such as GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA, etc.
