What You’ll Do: The Data Science Intern is assimilated into a group to learn about and work under the guidance of an experienced manager. You will have the chance to attend senior management speaking events, participate in business networking, receive opportunities through scheduled events dedicated to the Intern population and gain invaluable professional experience through project-based work. It is an amazing experience to explore a career in one of the leading global financial information organizations as well as:

• Work closely with a team of data scientists to create, design, and build a proof of concept related to the field of national and global security
• Write well-designed, well-constructed, and well-tested code
• Perform statistical analyses or create machine learning models
• Present your progress at the end of the engagement
• Leverage Thomson Reuters data to help understand and address an important U.S. government related data project.
• Receive mentoring and advice from experienced data scientists.

About You:

You’re a good fit for the role of Data Science intern if you:

• Are authorized to work in the United States without Visa sponsorship
• Are a Junior or Senior undergraduate, Graduate student, or have a Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines: Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, Basic/Applied Sciences, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field:
• Have experience in coding in at least one of the following: Python, Java, R, Scala, C/C+
• Understand computer science principles and algorithms
• Possess basic knowledge of statistics (advanced statistics or machine learning principles is a bonus)
• Communicate effectively (verbal and written) to different audiences
• Continuously learn new skills and technologies
• Are a good team player
