Domain Architect

Qualification:

Responsibility:

Thought Leadership / New Solution Development / Delivery Excellence:

• Write and publish white papers, point of view documents based on industry/domain understanding and specialization.
• Identify business opportunities to create reusable domain artifacts.
• Create reusable assets.
• Identify opportunities to reuse existing domain artifacts and best practices.

Consulting (for clients):

• Based on the customer needs and domain expertise, provide functional recommendations.

Project Delivery:

Project Estimation:

• Determine FPs for estimation purposes.
• Conduct draft project estimations by analyzing business requirements where feasible.
• Identify templates to conduct project estimations.
• Provide inputs and support to Project/Program management around project estimates.

Requirements Articulation:

• Conduct requirements gathering sessions to understand high level functional requirements Client SMEs.
• Under guidance from the domain architect, identify the functional solution and create the functional requirements document and functional architecture.
• Create standards and guidelines.
• Identify opportunities to crosssolutionize across project(s) within or outside the BU.
• Use domain knowledge to provide internal consulting to project teams on the right solution.
• Present and seek approval for BRD/FRD/UC to customers.
• Develop, maintain – Traceability matrix, clarification / gap analysis trackers.
• Oversee functional testing.

Requirements review:

• Work with the design team to ensure functional requirements are addressed.
• Define functional checklists for design and coding.
• Provide guidance to project team members in troubleshooting functional issues.
• Conduct cross project functional audits and reviews, as required.
• Develop Functional scenarios & perform validation/testing.
• Perform Functional Validation/testing of the system.
• Review all outputs across all SDLC phases from design to testing to ensure functional requirements are met.

Capability Building:

• Conduct trainings/ Webinars and post in Blogs / interviews to share expertise.
• Mentor new entrants into the domain career path as well as developers who show inclination towards functional expertise.
• Gain industry standard certifications on functional domain.
• Collaborate within and across teams around experience and knowledge sharing.
• Support building and maintenance of knowledge management repository.
• Act as SME for different delivery teams in terms of multiple processes within domain.

Business Development & Customer Relationship Management:

• Support BD / Delivery Management / Project Manager for RFI / RFPs specific to existing accounts from a domain perspective.
• Anchor proposal development with crosslinkages across multiple competency units to arrive at a coherent solution proposal with focus on presenting unique value propositions and clear differentiators.
• Create the content for, and provide customer trainings on new solution offerings.
• Create collateral for goto market for new domain solutions Brochures, Webinars, support campaigns, Best practices etc.
