At Booking.com, data drives our decisions. Technology is at our core. And innovation is everywhere. But our company is more than datasets, lines of code or A/B tests. We’re the thrill of the first night in a new place. The excitement of the next morning. The friends you make. The journeys you take. The sights you see. And the food you sample. Through our products, partners and people, we can empower everyone to experience the world.
With over 1.6 million room nights booked every day, accommodation represents the largest share of our business to date. We are responsible for accommodation growth, with clear ownership of all marketing, product and supply related to accommodations. Our mission is to deliver the best customer experience and most varied selection of properties.
In the Customer Experience Measurement team we make sure the voice of our customers is heard loud and clear throughout the business! We support our insight communities by building data processing pipelines, intelligent survey mechanisms and robust ways to extract insights from the data. When we do this right, the teams developing the Booking.com experiences will always be up-to-date with where people both struggle and succeed. The data and insights you will help create, will directly affect tactical and strategic changes to our customer’s experiences.
One of our primary customers is the User Research team. The research team is focused on gathering insights about people’s needs and behaviors to inform roadmaps, features and experiments for short and long term opportunities. We work across all aspects of the customer’s booking experience, bringing their voice to the solutions we design.
For us the end customer is always the priority and our solutions are designed for multi-level resiliency and graceful degradation. Data quality closely follows as a priority. We make sure our product never interferes with the customer journey. Our stack is mostly written in perl, kafka and Hadoop to enable compatibility with all products and platforms at Booking.com.
