Job Description

We’re looking for a partner to our Finance, Sales, User Operations, Legal, and Product teams to maintain and process accurate billing transactions for Asana’s fast growing customer base.

As a Revenue Accountant, you will support the Accounting team by assisting in billings processes, in addition to month-end close reporting process for revenue, and ad hoc finance projects as needed. Asana has a high volume of billing transactions, so technical ability is important as we connect the dots systematically between billing systems, ERP, payment processors, and our product. We’re scaling our order-to-cash process globally and this role is crucial to its success!

What you’ll achieve

Creation of manual invoices: This process entails high attention to detail as we ensure proper controls are completed before provisioning the customer to premium, business and enterprise subscriptions.
Assist in billing-related customer queries cross-functionally. Work closely with the customers directly or internally with our Sales, Legal, and User Operations team with respect to billing, contracts, and completion of vendor forms.
Continuously improve business processes, systems, and enhance documentation and controls.
Month-end close: Perform weekly and monthly controls for revenue recognition. Present monthly to finance teams.
Ad hoc projects as they arise across various teams (e.g. preparation of audit support).
Be flexible in a constantly changing and high growth business environment

About you

Minimum of 3+ years accounting experience
Previous role(s) in internal or external audit, GL accounting, and/or revenue accounting
Technical knowledge of revenue recognition standards ASC 605 and ASC 606
Strong aptitude and proficiency in Excel
Excellent communication and organisational skills, both written and verbal
Process oriented with an appreciation for financial controls
Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance or similar, CPA a plus
Experience with NetSuite and Salesforce a plus
Experience with multi-currency a plus
Comfortable working with Macbooks
