Job Description

The New Member Acquisition team is a fast-paced organization and a significant driver of new Consumer Card Members into the American Express franchise. The team is dedicated to delivering best-in-class digital marketing and card acquisition experiences with the goal of growing new accounts and spend acquired. The Digital Demand Generation Team is dedicated to delivering best in class digital marketing and card shopping experiences through distribution partnerships and offsite marketing channels.

The Senior Manager, Paid Media will be responsible for shaping and leading strategy and execution plans for key Paid Digital Media marketing initiatives to drive efficient prospect acquisition at scale.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define and develop media channel strategy that directly connects to enterprise priorities.
  • Identify opportunities to drive growth and evolve marketing, including but not limited to new channels, partners, creative, messaging, audiences, and segmentation.
  • Launch media campaigns tied to key business initiatives, including new product launches, limited time offers, new benefits, and more.
  • Manage relationships with external media agency, as well as key external media partners and platforms.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to create a robust channel test-and-learn agenda, optimize the program, and develop the performance narrative for the channel.
  • Leverage internal and agency reporting to monitor campaign KPI performance.
  • Lead with an external perspective by both keeping abreast of industry trends and technologies, as well as maintaining relationships with Media teams across Amex, finding opportunities for collaboration.
  • Lead direct reports responsible for end-to-end campaign execution, day-to-day channel management, budget, and forecasting activities.
Minimum Qualifications
  • 5+ years of relevant digital marketing experience
  • 1+ years of experience managing direct reports
  • Self-starter with an ability to navigate the organization and processes independently
  • Strong analytical skills combined with an ability to clearly communicate results and learnings
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Growth mindset
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Ability to quickly pivot priorities based on changes in internal or external landscape
  • Ability to develop strong relationships both internally and externally
  • Experience working in digital media a plus
  • Understanding of DoubleClick, Omniture, and 3rd Party tracking a plus
  • Experience in highly regulated industry a plus
  • Bachelor’s Degree
