Job Description Summary

Travelers Claim Technology has an exciting opportunity for a Software Engineer on the Test Data Management (TDM) team in the Claim Shared Services organization.
The successful candidate will play a key in expanding and modernizing claim’s test data management framework and processes and will be accountable for designing, building, and implementing TDM solutions in an evolving, increasingly cloud-centric data environment while maintain the integrity of existing legacy data environments. The work supported by this position involves the Claim TDM team, development and analytics areas in other parts of Claim Technology and technology teams for other Travelers lines of business, so excellent collaboration, problem solving, and customer service skills are required. troubleshooting, documenting, health monitoring/alerting, and implementing based on user or system specifications, consulting with users to determine hardware, software or system functional specifications, managing interaction between the systems and other technical support areas and defining technical requirements and coordinating team resources to solve problems.

Primary Job Duties & Responsibilities:

• Identify, recommend, and implement enhancements and modernizations to existing Test Data Management (TDM) solution, particularly as source of truth moves to the cloud data sources
• As new sources of test data are identified, identify potential sources of PII and implement necessary obfuscation and other measures to secure the data
• Develop and implement new TDM solutions and enhancement to support test data stored in multiple database technologies. These may include current technologies such as MongoDB, AWS, and Snowflake but can also include older technologies such as DB2, IMS, and Teradata.
• Participate in domain technical and business discussions to align future architecture direction with business goals
• In collaboration with project leadership and Claim IT architects, design overall TDM solution and develop the TDM approach for the customer
• Oversee Data Validation and Data Verification steps during testing and development
• Analyze data flow across applications as well as data dependencies
• Define test data governance approach, data architecture and TDM processes across data stages

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related discipline and a minimum of 4 years of technical experience or 6 years of total technical experience

Education, Work Experience, & Knowledge

• Strong Informatica skills required, including experience with Power Center, Web Services Hub, and Informatica Intelligent Cloud Services is preferred
• Experience with implementation of data masking and data subsetting required; experience with data reservation, data generation, and data governance is a plus
• Knowledge of multiple database platforms: MongoDB, Snowflake, SQL Server preferred. Comfort with legacy platforms such as DB2, IMS, and Teradata is necessary
• Strong communication skills and motivation to work in a matrixed and agile team structure to achieve results in a fast-paced environment
• Self-motivated individual who consistently delivers high quality results with limited guidance and is passionate about learning new technologies and language stacks in a fast-changing ecosystem.
• Hands-on coding experience
• Experience with code management tools such as GitHub
• Experience with Cloud Services, especially AWS is preferred
• Knowledge of multiple development technologies such as NodeJS/React, .NET, C#, RestAPI, Groovy, Python preferred
• Knowledge of guided analytics dashboarding tools including QlikView, and QlikSense a plus.
• IBM mainframe knowledge a plus
