The Consumer Lending team partners with other businesses across Wells Fargo to create and deliver transformational experiences that help customers gain access to credit. The vision for the Consumer Lending business is to leverage technology and data to make it simple for customers to easily access credit when and where they need it. Consumer Lending serves customers across the country through our distribution network of more than 5,300 retail banking branches and Home Lending offices as well as online and digital channels.

This position within Wells Fargo Deposit and Credit Bureau Management Office will lead the Furnishing Data Integrity Team focused on driving insights and data improvement opportunities in our Credit Bureau furnishing files. This leader will focus on credit bureau suppressions, illogical reporting scenarios, and reject data. The team, through a variety of channels, will be responsible for the research, strategy, and execution plans to resolve data issues. This will include working with business process owners and controls teams outside of furnishing to find sustainable solutions to furnishing issues and cross-train key business partners in their role in accurate furnishing of consumer data. This work is critical to Wells Fargo’s compliance with the Fair Credit Reporting Act as well as key to enhanced customer experience through accuracy in data furnishing.

Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Develop operational processes, procedures, and controls to support intake, analysis, evaluation, research, recommendation, and execution for data furnishing records that result in suppression, illogical reporting, and rejects. Given the complexity of conditions that drive these data issues, must be capable of root cause analysis with multiple business processes that impact high risk data elements.
  • Manage the team of furnishing analysts to ensure proper research and resolution of defects in a timely manner.
  • Must effectively capacity plan to ensure risk-based resolution needs are met.
  • Build new MIS that provides trends by category, by product, by month. This MIS must drive meaningful insights into opportunities, risks, and priorities across the data furnishing spectrum.
  • Drive expanded insights into SHRP issues, both owned and impacted, and build an issue heat map to capture business processes that create data quality concerns.
  • Lead communication and collaboration with business heads, Legal, Compliance, Audit, and Risk regarding research findings and required upstream process and control changes to mitigate risks.
  • Present findings and recommendations and secure alignment on expectations across the firm.

Required Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: business support, project management, implementation, business operations or strategic planning
  • 4+ years of management experience


Desired Qualifications

  • Virtual leadership experience with ability to effectively drive results, provide feedback/direction, and manage and build relationships with leaders and team members in a geographically dispersed team environment
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills
  • Ability to translate and summarize complex data into understandable, actionable information and recommendations
  • Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, achieve goals, and work under pressure in a dynamic and complex environment
  • A BS/BA degree or higher
  • Ability to identify and evaluate trends, isolate root cause, and provide swift/thorough resolution


Other Desired Qualifications
  • 8+ year of experience in one or a combination of the following: data furnishing, risk management, process improvement, project management, operational transformation, business operations or strategic planning
  • 5+ years credit bureau reporting or credit lending
  • Experience in building and leading a high performing team
  • Strong working knowledge of Fair Credit Reporting ACT(FCRA)
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills with experience driving interactions with senior product leaders to identify gaps in processes and controls.
  • Strong data integrity skills and experience

Job Expectations

  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
