Providence St. Joseph Health is calling a Senior CITRIX IS Engineer PSJH to our locations in Renton, WA; Redmond, WA; Seattle, WA; Spokane, WA; Portland, OR; Beaverton, OR; Irvine, CA; Anchorage, AK, Missoula, MT; Las Vegas, NV; Lubbock, TX.

The Senior Engineer organizes and manages the engineering of large and long-term projects and initiatives by collaborating with architects and business teams to drive clarity and manage expectations. The successful candidate can successfully integrate the efforts of all teams within IS to effectively and efficiently produce the desired solution. The Senior Engineer determines the scope of work for more junior team member which includes identifying, clarifying, and providing guidance on the efforts required. As a key contributor to IS efforts, the Senior Engineer has a significant impact on the business and the IS organization. Also, the Senior Engineer is a leader in the effort to increase IS technical capabilities and quality while also helping lowering costs.

The successful candidate is comfortable presenting technical information, project status, and other information in team, department, or project status meetings. Also, the Senior Engineer is responsible for sharing information through training and mentoring of others in the department.

The Senior Engineer is required to have advanced analytical skills and expert-level skills in at least one area of technology. This role requires a broad knowledge of technology and software development in addition to areas of expertise. The successful candidate has an excellent knowledge of architecture, systems level design principles, and distributed design and is capable of systems-level design and partitioning of designs into components. The successful candidate preferably has experience building solutions involving one or more of the major cloud service providers. Also, a Senior Engineer must have intermediate to advanced programming skills in at least two languages.

The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience working in an Agile development environment with geographically distributed teams.

In this position you will have the following responsibilities:

• Deliver design documents, software programs, scripts, configuration files, and other programming artifacts as needed to implement solutions.
• Provide training and mentoring to other team members on high-level design, implementation design, and coding skills and best practices.
• Provide leadership and technical management of solutioning efforts, including projects and initiatives. Ensure that all Engineering participants involved in such efforts have clarity of role and expectations in effort.
• Research and investigate new capabilities of cloud services and other technologies. Provide timely insight and advice to leadership team to permit the leveraging of these technologies in future plans.
• Assist in gathering, clarifying, and documenting requirements of solutions. Work collaboratively with architects and other engineers to determine potential gaps and alternative solutions.
• Ensure that all designs are aligned with the organization's standards and policies and that designs are reviewed properly.
• Ensure that code is reviewed properly for adherence to security policies and coding best practices.
• Provide assistance with troubleshooting issues escalated to engineering including on-call assistance for top priority incidents.

Qualifications:

Required qualifications for this position include:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Information Systems or equivalent education/experience.
• 5 years experience in software developer and IT automation role.

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

• 3 years' experience with Citrix technologies (Virtual App, Virtual Desktop, NetScaler)
• Master's Degree in Computer Science or Information Systems or equivalent education/experience.
• Certified Developer or Certified Architect of a major cloud service.
• 2 years' experience with Cloud Providers (Azure, AWS)
• 2 years' experience as Agile team member or coordinator.
