Who You'll Work With

You will be based in our Atlanta, Dallas, Miramar, New Jersey, Philadelphia or Waltham office as part of McKinsey Optimize, the function that delivers distinctive, positive and productive experiences through various services ranging from travel, events, real estate, sourcing, technology and purchasing. You will work closely with the director of contracts & supplier risk, internal functions and external suppliers as you lead the contract review process to mitigate the firm’s risk in vendor arrangements.

What You'll Do

You will provide expertise, guidance and leadership to stakeholders on all aspects of contract lifecycle from structuring agreements and negotiating deal terms through to contract review and execution. In this role, you will bring your expertise in commercial (non-legal) terms and collaborate with firm legal on legal terms to ensure an appropriate level of risk. You will lead multiple contract reviews simultaneously following processes and best practices. You will escalate complex issues as necessary for prompt resolution. Additionally, you will track and report on data and recommend ongoing process improvements to further reduce risk and add value.

Qualifications

  • University degree in business, law, English
  • Five years of relevant contract management experience with demonstrated history of managing complex issues and understanding of legal processes/principles and commercial best practices
  • Relevant experience with information technology sector including topics related to confidentiality, data security and privacy issues
  • Superior drafting, negotiation and communication skills
  • Ability to learn quickly, work independently and proceed with objectives without supervision
  • Complex problem solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to quickly identify challenges and clearly articulate creative, practical solutions even when dealing with stakeholders or a high degree of ambiguity
  • Experience in building effective and collaborative relationships with internal stakeholders, in-house legal, subject matter experts and third party vendors to move projects forward while meeting deadlines
  • Expert in managing multiple projects simultaneously and effectively balancing competing priorities
