Who You'll Work With

You will be based in Stamford, CT, Miramar, FL, Philadelphia, PA, or Prague, CZ as part of McKinsey Optimize. This function delivers distinctive, positive and productive experiences through various services ranging from travel, events, real estate, sourcing, technology and purchasing. You will work closely with the director of services procurement and payment strategy, internal functions and external suppliers as you oversee and execute services procurement objectives.

What You'll Do

You will lead the services procurement team, and with HR, co-lead the day-to-day operations of the global external worker/contingent workforce program navigating and solving for complex situations. In this role, you will contribute to the global department vision, strategy and priorities with the director. You will be responsible for supporting the ongoing development of each team member and for creating a culture of operational excellence and continuous improvement.You will collaborate with HR, subject matter experts and regional stakeholders on executing and delivering on external worker initiatives, evaluating processes and identifying and implementing improvements including technology/automation to achieve efficiency and reduce risk. You will help in establishing operational stability throughout the external worker program (e.g. external worker sourcing, supplier negotiations and enablement, reporting, issue management) and lead tactical and strategic projects. You will utilize metrics to measure and track project and program performance, identify growth and improvement opportunities and evaluate the value and impact of the external worker program. You will also report on performance to department and Optimize leadership and conduct audits to ensure the established processes and agreed upon SLAs are consistently met or exceeded.Overall, you will provide expertise, guidance and leadership to stakeholders on all aspects of the external worker program as well as being a thought partner to problem solving topics involving external workers.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 7+ years of relevant business experience in procurement or business operations; knowledge of card systems is a plus
  • Excellent negotiation skills
  • Exceptional problem solving and analytical skills; ability to quickly identify challenges and clearly articulate creative, practical solutions even when dealing with a high degree of ambiguity
  • Client relationship skills and experience in managing stakeholders
  • Ability to build and maintain highly effective and collaborative relationships
  • Confident people leader
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
  • Superior communication and excellent interpersonal skills
