Job Description
TITLE: Operations Manager, Injection Molding
Location: Mogadore, OH
Reports to: Sr. Technical Manager

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITY:
The Department Manager of Injection Molding will be responsible for leading and directing the department for the Mogadore facility. The Department Manager will lead the area in the coordination of personnel, materials, and equipment to optimize inefficiencies while managing safety, service, employee relations, and quality standards. Requires extensive short-term planning based on the priorities of the business. Involves problem solving and effective communication to secure the operation’s efficiencies. Responsible in understanding company policies and resolve related issues. Lead and teach in identifying, implementing and evaluating lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives in operations to increase productivity, safety and KPIs goals. Must clearly communicate business goals so associates understand how they contribute to the organization’s success. Some irregular hours will be required.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide leadership & guidance to the Injection Molding Department
- Key leader in driving Newell’s Continuous Improvement Program, PEAK.
- Assure and develop SOPs that are clearly communicated and followed
- Manage and improve KPIs, including but not limited to OEE, Productivity and DLE
- Manage and improve quality
- Manage Department productivity projects and improvements
- Develop & implement sustainable systems which meet and / or exceed organizational objectives
- Project management (i.e. automation and process improvements)
- Supervise vacation coverage and scheduling
- Department safety champion and ensure training
- Assist with Development Plans for Supervisors and Production Coordinators
- Prioritizes daily issues and assign appropriate resources to resolve issues as needed
- Supports all other departmental objectives through teamwork and collaboration
- Other duties as designated
JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Must demonstrate effective communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong Continuous Improvement leadership
- Must be able to work with little or no supervision
- Must be innovative and be able to develop new, and maximize existing concepts to improve organizational objectives
- Highly organized and able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with MS Office software skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access (basic), and Outlook
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Five (5) plus years working in a leadership role in a manufacturing environment
