Position Overview

As an Email Marketing & Automation Specialist at Thinkful, you will be responsible for driving engagement, retention and job placement of our students. You will strategize, develop, execute, and measure email campaigns in collaboration with our creative, product, education, and careers teams. In this role, you’ll implement enhancements to new and existing email programs, and drive students to complete Thinkful’s programs successfully. Additionally, you will participate in the development and ongoing refinement of the student communications roadmap and play a significant role in the execution of the roadmap. An ideal candidate will have a history of coordinating audience lists, executing high-impact automated programs, and analyzing performance.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end email campaign production across teams, including planning, executing, testing, and optimization of broadcast and automated email campaigns
• Analyze, monitor, and communicate email performance on a regular basis to stakeholders, provide recommendations for enhancing effectiveness
• Work within the existing database to segment and target audiences
• A/B test new messaging and techniques to optimize for engagement and conversion
• Work with marketing, product, and engineering teams to ensure accurate data is being captured to support email initiatives
• Collaborate with operations, product, design and instructional design to ensure student communications map to the design of our product, content and student support.
• Manage a monthly email content calendar
• Manage current email agency

Requirements

• 2-3 years of hands-on professional experience creating email marketing campaigns, bonus points for logic-based automated programs
• Prior experience with marketing automation tools and email service providers, such as Customer.io
• Familiar with email marketing trends and best practices
• Solid understanding of email performance metrics, delivery, and deliverability
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Working knowledge of HTML/CSS as it pertains to coding
• Excellent attention to detail, time management, problem-solving, and project management skills
• Bonus: Experience with Liquid for dynamic personalization
