Providence St. Joseph Health is calling an Data Center Operations Solutions Specialist PSJH to our location in Renton, WA or Redmond, WA.

We are seeking an Data Center Operations Solutions Specialist PSJH to be responsible for supporting all PSJH data center facilities, coordination and delivery detailed customer requests, and 24x7 response to critical infrastructure / facility alerts. Understand the reasoning behind alarms and can develop automated solutions to remediate the potential for service disruption. Work with RESO and vendors to remediate shortfalls in the infrastructure leading to outages.

This role is accountable for providing enterprise-class data center capacity managment, HW inventories and resource allocation / tracking. In addition, the Solutions Manager is responsible for overall structured cable management, capacity, maintenance and lifecycle of all PSJH Data Centers and other controlled spaces that provide highly available and resilient access for caregivers to necessary electronic tools. Has the knowledge to create programs that will upgrade deficient infrastructure across many sites taking into consideration the programs in place to reduce the overall IT landscape / sprawl.

In addition, this role is responsible for having port and electrical capacity available to support both planned and emergency installation of IT servers, storage, network or security infrastructure. Adoption of matrices that document and preplan for the future upgrade or addition of capacities that are critical for ongoing support of deployments.

This role works collaboratively with internal IS teams and external vendors to provide highly available and reliable infrastructure services. Has the knowledge and presence to deliver complex project artifacts to Sr. Leadership for approval or the technicians for installation.

In this position you will:

  • Design, maintain, and recommend improvement to enterprise-class structured cabling and equipment racking, insuring that they are available 24x7x365 without interruption.
  • Supports the delivery and update to a continuous improvement cycle using the approved Data Center Strategy as its Playbook.
  • Provide verification and reporting of equipment location through the use of DCIM tools and will look to future technologies that tie into Service Now (RIFD ETC) to provide world class IS DC support.
  • Responsible for capacity planning, this will include tracking, planning, forecast and recommending capacity increase efforts as needed to support current and forecasted Enterprise deployments.
  • As a member of the IS Operations team, participates fully in the resolution of issues and incidents both within and outside the scope of Data Center Operations.
  • Engage with and coordinate with Data Center Operations ccustomers to help plan, execute, and support various types of deployments within the Enterprise leveraging local and SmartHands resources as needed.
  • Work with Enterprise Monitoring and Network Operations Center to establish, operate and escalate via monitoring and automated tools to improve the reliability of IS services.
  • Ensure that all activities of the Data Center organization are performed within the parameters of defined policies.
  • Maintain currency on information technology in general and accountable disciplines in particular. Continually evaluates the effectiveness of current strategies, technology and standards, recommending enhancements and modifications through established collaboration mechanisms.
  • Maintain relationships with key business partners in the IT industry in order to leverage best practices, evaluate emerging technologies, and distribute knowledge internally to inform plans and strategies.
  • Develop and implement appropriate service delivery models for core functionalities where the IS organization is a trusted adviser in defining, delivering, and improving services for the enterprise and its customers.
  • Understand budgeting and expenditures for all data center services, as well as cost-allocation methodologies to operational areas.
  • Provide input to aid in the development and negotiation of preferred information technology vendor contracts and supports the management of key vendor relationships.
  • Maintain the strict confidentiality of all information, including financial/operational, employee/human resource, healthcare/patient data and information.
  • Partner with the entire IS leadership team for disaster recovery architecture, projects, and policies and participates in disaster drills.

Qualifications:

Required qualifications for this position include:

  • H.S. Diploma or GED or equivalent educ/experience
  • 2 years Information Services technical experience in leading IS infrastructure operations teams
  • 4 years experience managing data center facilities, including design and maintenance activities.
  • Effective interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrates excellent judgment and decision making skills
  • Maintains composure under pressure
  • Possesses strong technical aptitude

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • Associate's Degree in Information Services; Business, Healthcare, or Public Administration; or IS Field or equivalent educ/experience
