What is the opportunity?

The Fixed Income Derivative Operations group under RBC Capital Markets is looking to hire a Trade Support Analyst to join its Canadian Mortgage Investment group (CMIG). The incumbent’s primary responsibility is to provide operational support to un-securitized Mortgage activities, settlements and reconciliations in order to provide high quality operational support .

What will you do?

  • As part of our daily support to the Mortgage trading business, approve assigned service providers’ files uploaded from shared drive into the Mortgage Hub (mHUB) system
  • Promptly resolve issues related to Mortgage daily settlements.
  • Investigate and resolve 3-way-reconciliation discrepancies in a timely manner. Reconcile Journal Posting position to system generated Activity Summary report for un-securitized Mortgages positions to Servicers’ report.
  • Continually cross-train on the mHUB system and Mortgage desk tasks to maintain 3-person-deep coverage.
  • Review daily and monthly GL (General Ledger) reconciliation results performed by CMRG (Capital Markets Reconciliation Group) to ensure all discrepancies for positions/balances in various processing systems are thoroughly investigated and resolved.
  • Complete monthly GL accounts attestation within the prescribed deadlines.
  • As necessary, prepare respective SLIM/eGL accounting entries for all Infinity/Murex book-runners.
  • Ensure desk procedures, controls and best practices are current and well documented. As required, participate in user acceptance testing for new products and system improvements.

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • High degree of accuracy, attention to detail; ability to learn quickly and problem solve.
  • Work effectively and reliably under pressure with minimal supervision; team player.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal and communications skills.
  • Solid PC (Microsoft Excel, Word) and analytical skills

Nice-to-have

  • Experience/working knowledge of Mortgages/MBS & derivatives products and processing procedures
  • Good working knowledge of various Systems: MHUB, Slim, People Soft, Infinity/Murex, OBI, IRIS etc.
