Tech Lead Full Stack Engineer.

Chegg provides products and solutions that serve over 4 million students annually.

We are looking for a talented FullStack Staff Engineer who’ll help lead the technology of a core services group, to deliver key Identity and Access Management services, shared across all Chegg products.

Responsibilities:

• Architect and facilitate the building of production critical systems, used by multiple products across the org, in a Core Services group located in IL
• Technically lead and participate in critical technical/product discussions with leaders across our engineering and product teams
• Facilitate continuous technical learning and improvement for the group, while directly influencing the engineering best practices within the group
• Engage with cross teams and help drive future strategy with your experience and expertise
• Actively participate in choosing the right technology for the challenge at hand as well as building resilient, performant sustainable and fault-tolerant systems
• Uphold high engineering standards, essentially leading by example, and bring consistency to the many services and processes the group builds
• Scale distributed applications, make architectural trade-offs applying synchronous and asynchronous design patterns, write code, and deliver with quality as you’re leading our standards into the products and teams

Qualifications:

• You have a passion for platform services as a product
• Experience technical leading and developing large scale and distributed designs and systems
• 6+ years of experience in software development in one or more general-purpose programming languages including (but not limited to): Java, Kotlin, JS, C#
• Experience in designing cloud applications using distributed cache and experience of using Redis, ElasticCache or similar products.
• Knowledge of RDBMS (MySQL) and NoSQL (ElasticSearch, DynamoDB, Aurora, etc.)
• High proficiency with AWS cloud service platforms or similar
• Solid understanding of micro-services in cloud environment and asynchronous programming
• Familiar with Continuous Integration & Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) practices
• Strong communicator - Can easily explain complex concepts to both technical and non-technical colleagues.
