Product Manager, Developer Experience

Job Description

Product managers at Asana drive Asana’s product strategy and execution, translating customer needs and opportunities into a compelling roadmap and working cross-functionally to deliver impactful solutions for team productivity and collaboration. We’re defining the Work Management category and inventing new ways for teams to work more efficiently together and see the larger purpose behind their work. You’ll work directly with Engineering, Design, User Research, and Data Science, as well as with Sales, Support, and Marketing to ship great product. You’ll take part in every type of product work here — from strategy to product to process improvements — conceptualizing, launching, and iterating on Asana itself for millions of teams around the world.

We’re looking for a product manager experienced in developer platforms and APIs to take our fast growing Asana platform to the next level. You’ll own and drive our roadmap for Asana’s developer experiences, creating the essential tools and building blocks that developers within our customers, partners and broader community can use to integrate, extend and create value on Asana. Whether it’s our API, client libraries, developer dashboard, or directory listing experience, you’ll own the end to end journey for developers through acquisition, adoption, support and growth to help them find success with Asana. Besides working with your immediate team to continuously ship product features large and small, you’ll also collaborate closely with our developer relations and partnerships teams to develop the broader strategy around partners and developers to help our ecosystem grow.

• Ruthlessly prioritize customer value and clearly articulate what’s needed so your team can focus and execute quickly.
• Connect the dots across experiences and teams to create a cohesive customer experience.
• Build a high-performing cross-functional team with deep customer insights, co-creation and camaraderie.
• Mentor new PMs and share best practices with the product team.

About you

• 3+ years professional experience managing software products from inception through launch and iteration. Experience working with APIs, 3rd party developers or independent software vendors
• Strategic: inspires the company by creating bold, game-changing ideas and delivering them across a set of customer problems
• Get Stuff Done: creates, flexes, and evangelizes a roadmap. Thoughtfully breaks down projects to MVPs to maximize customer value with the least amount of work.
• Customer centric: elicits non-obvious customer needs, synthesizes research to gain a deep understanding and narrow definition of a problem
• Communication and collaboration: co-creates with teammates to deliver high-quality results. Speaks and writes with clarity
