The Future Talent Program features internships that lasts up to 12 weeks and will include one or more projects. These opportunities in our Animal Health can provide you with great development and a chance to see if we are the right company for your long-term goals.

Our Animal Health Division (AH) U.S. Retail Team Intern will be a Field based position supporting the overall business. The intern will provide added value to our Company's customers in Retail sales. The intern will interact with Retail Distributor Reps, Dealers, and Retail Consumers to gain first-hand sales experience and support our broad portfolio.

Our Company Animal Health Retail Initiatives Team Field Sales Intern will perform:

  • Support our customers and our retail product portfolio.
  • Logistical support for market assisting the Retail Sales Team.
  • Field assignments aligned with specific geographic sales territories identified as high need and potential for supplementation of sales team’s activities.
  • Intern will be assigned to a regional manager for general direction/guidance and a mentor to direct daily interactions with assigned geographic internal/external sales representatives and customers.
  • Intern will be required to develop an Account Action Spreadsheet to organize and align accounts within their assigned areas for tracking efficient use of their time and company resources, along with account call notes in MAXX.
  • The intern will have introductory training focused on products, Programs and an introduction in to retail long chain selling.
  • Retail intern can expect to work with Retail Distribution, Dealers and Consumers to support and provide support to the Company Animal Health Retail Team promoting programs and sales, including detailing/selling our Company Animal Health retail products, conducting surveys, setting retail merchandising displays, supporting dealer/industry meetings & tradeshows and providing extended support of the our Company Animal Health sales teams.
  • The intern will be given a sales goal for the summer along with expectation of working an 8-5 work week.
  • Developing and executing plans for engaging customers and meeting customer needs.
  • Participate in field-based events (trade show support; customers education regarding the features and benefits of AH products and services).
  • For Field-based Sales Intern in Animal Health, you will be required to rent a car. As part of this position requirements, you will have to be legally authorized to rent a car in the state in which you reside/work in.
  • Each Intern will be required to develop and present a project to conclude their summer internship program.

Required Education, Experience and Skills:

  • Candidates must be currently enrolled in any bachelor’s or master’s degree program (if applicable, related to Animal Science, Ag Business, Agriculture, etc. or other degree.
  • Candidates must have completed at least 2 years of college course work by May 2021.
  • Candidates must be available for a period of 10-12 weeks beginning the last of week of May 2021.
  • Candidates must have ability to travel 50 – 75% or virtual.
  • Candidates must have excellent interpersonal/communication and presentation skills.
  • Candidates must have general computer skills including working knowledge of Word, Excel and PowerPoint and the ability to use an iPad.
  • Candidates must have ability to be organized, adapt to a changing environment, work independently and as part of a team.
  • Candidates must have ability to travel and live in the region of the U.S. where the intern is placed for the period of the internship.

Preferred Experience and Skills:

  • Retail and/or Customer Service exposure.
  • Sales training and/or applied sales exposure.
  • GPA of 3.0 or higher.
  • Basic knowledge of the Animal Health industries.
  • Food Production Animal exposure.
  • Companion Animal (Equine & Canine) exposure
  • Additional language fluency
