The role
The Organon IPS Director will work as a partner and consult with key Regional Line of Business leaders, Functional leaders, plant managers, and their leadership teams to shape regional strategy, develop plans and execute performance improvement initiatives:
- Leading and coaching regional leaders, connecting corporate and divisional strategy to improvement initiatives, cascade to sites and functions, while ensuring cross-functional alignment
- Developing the Regional PS Team and lead or contribute to the continuous improvement of PS standards, management systems processes, and methods.
- Leading and coaching leaders to integrate operations and functions end-to-end and drive improvement to reduce lead time, improve customer service levels, and lower total operating cost, and increase cash flow.
- Shaping regional strategy, thinking, direction, and develop operational excellence skills from a PS perspective, whilst maintaining corporate and cross-functional alignment.
- Contribute to further develop and improve the MPS standards in order to reinforce the application of MPS in all areas and help take our Manufacturing Division to an even higher level of sustained performance.

Direct reports: Up to 2 Direct reports at the Associate Director level
Location: Open. Depending on proximity to strategic Organon locations, travel will vary between 50% and 70%
Major Responsibilities:
During the first six months in the role, the Global PS Leader expects the Director to learn and to build relationships with key individuals within the region, understand the underlying condition of our operations, and create a clear path and strategy to lead continuous improvement within the region. This will include:
- Partnering with key regional leaders to identify key levers in supply chains to improve quality, reduce cost, and lead time.
- Establishing or improving management systems to link performance management from the production line to regional leadership level and cross-functionally and solve problems for the last time.
- Creating standardized work for leaders to drive daily cadence of problem-solving and continuous improvement.
- Coaching and developing Regional and SLT Leaders to be strong lean teachers and coaches for their direct reports.
- Applying Lean techniques and "Way of Thinking" to lead deep analyses and solve complex system (multiple processes) problems (creating stability, building quality and efficiency in, and establishing continuous flow).
- Applying behavior coaching and change management concepts to influence decision making, shape behaviors, and create an inclusive environment.
Education, training, and language:
- Bachelor's degree is required, MBA preferred.
- Training – Hands-on TPS experience with direct coaching from an expert and methods are required,
- Language – English is mandatory, a second language (Dutch for example) advantageous.
Required Experience and Skills :
- At least 10 years of work experience leading high performing operations and hands-on experience in the application of Toyota Production System (TPS) methods and way of thinking is required.
- A track record of strong and sustainable impact to large operations or manufacturing sites through standardization and leading to high performance and finally impacting the P&L is needed.
- Simply knowing the tools and processes to create results is not enough – candidates must have a demonstrable track record of leading, creating, and effecting cultural change that has been embedded in an organization.
- The candidate should offer a diverse background and have significant manufacturing operations experience. This person must have training in the science of manufacturing and understand the levers for high performance.
- Proven ability to analyze and lead others to transform complex production systems/supply chains to deliver significant-quality, cost, delivery, and lead time benefits.
- Ability to coach and lead leaders to develop continuous improvement strategies, influence decision making, deploy Hoshin Kanri, and drive continuous improvement initiatives within and across operations and functions.
- Solid experience leading the development of Lean practitioners and leaders to create a strong foundation of continuous improvement.
- Demonstrable experience in managing operational excellence teams to deliver breakthrough business results, while establishing underlying conditions that enables stable supply, built-in quality, low labor and capital requirements, and just-in-time delivery.
- Solid business acumen, proven team-building skills, exceptionally good listening skills, results-oriented with strong financial analysis skills.
- Strong experience in applying and coaching change management, behavioral coaching, and consequence management methods. Experience enabling and leveraging diverse perspectives, talents, and so on to achieve business outcomes while creating an inclusive culture.
