Position title: Maintenance & Purchasing Manager – Rubbermaid Commercial Products
Location: Hillegom, NL
Reports to: Operations Manager
Contract type: Permanent, full-time
Job summary
As a Maintenance & Purchasing Manager you will be responsible for overseeing purchase and maintenance of machines and spare parts in order to keep the production running smoothly and without interruptions. You will oversee maintenance of six production lines in our manufacturing site in Hillegom, where we produce hygiene consumables in 4-shift cycles. You will manage projects and a team of 6 people in a fast-growing site, where cost optimization and continuous improvement will be among your main goals.
Key responsibilities:
- Manage the machines & spare parts buying process for a given set of goods in line with specified cost, quality and delivery targets, including preparation of purchase orders (PO)
- Provide technical / commercial assistance to develop awareness of manufacturing processes and improve maintenance knowledge
- Apply sourcing policy, interface between suppliers and the entity with respect to specifications and budgets.
- Manage problems, schedule changes and ensure changes are reflected within ERP systems (incl. SAP)
- Balance both tactical executions and strategic initiatives necessary to drive cost reduction projects.
- Ensure continuous supply of required spare parts and materials and communicate any supply problems which may pose a risk or impact business operations
- Monitor market trends and competitors’ strategies
- Research and evaluate areas of opportunity to reduce costs where possible
- Actively participate in overall equipment’s effectiveness (OEE) performance reviews, develop ideas to improve it and add value to business performance
- Negotiate contracts, prices and terms of business with suppliers, using best practices to gain business savings and ensure compliance to company guidelines and purchasing policies
- Assess suppliers by undertaking performance reviews to ensure contract compliance and managing improvement activities
- Leading a team and managing project against Key Performance Indicators
- Deliver regular and ad hoc briefs, updates and reports
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, or equal by experience;
- 4-6 years of experience in working on technical (facility) projects;
- Experience in a supervisor role;
- Fluent in Dutch and English (written and spoken);
- Good command of SAP, MS Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong technical knowledge and understanding of production processes, components and supply chain management
- Hands on attitude with strong problem-solving skill
- Highly skilled at building and maintaining effective relationships with key stakeholders and suppliers
- Strong negotiation, communication and influencing skills
- Result-oriented with the ability to plan and deliver against project deadlines
- Experience of working in a matrix, multicultural environment
