Job Description

Hewlett Packard Enterprise is seeking a highly motivated Storage Systems Software Engineer with Linux, C/C++, and Python development experience to join our R&D team for next-generation HPE Storage platforms. The selected candidate will be responsible for working with the team to improve and expand our storage software stack supporting a wide range of new hardware and software technologies.

Responsibilities:

• Contribute to design, development of the new product features, bug fixes and enhancement requests per product requirements and schedules
• Contribute to support of the product with debug, root cause analysis, and resolution of issues
• Work on problems/projects where analysis of situations or data requires an evaluation of multiple factors.
• Participate in cross-functional multi-site team.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related field
• Typically 4-6 years experience

Background and Skills:

• Proficiency in C/C++, Python, Bash
• Knowledge of Linux and/or Unix internals
• Experience with system management and monitoring software
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Self-motivated and pro-active with demonstrated creative and critical thinking skills
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
• Experience in systems performance analysis and tuning

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with Storage solutions is a plus
• Experience with Lustre file systems is a plus
• Experience with Puppet or Ansible provisioning tools is a plus
• Understanding of HPC systems and related technologies
• Experience with Network technologies such as InfiniBand and Ethernet
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum/continuous integration software development environments is a plus
• Experience developing test cases for continuous integration automation frameworks is a plus
• Experience working in cross-functional or geographically distributed software development teams is a plus
