Job Description BAE Systems Navigation and Sensor Systems (NSS) Organization is seeking a Software Engineering Intership with a desire to be part of an innovative, dedicated team responsible for the software development of real-time embedded ultra-high performance military-grade Global Positioning Systems (GPS) receivers. The receivers under development join a long heritage of trusted navigation sources for the US military airborne and weapons applications. This position offers abundant opportunity to acquire in-depth knowledge of GPS technology and receiver architecture, and to apply that knowledge in a team effort to develop our GPS receiver products.

As a part of this Internship experience, you will have the opportunity to practice multiple phases of the software engineering life cycle, including requirements analysis, design, code development, integration, and verification. You will be part of an Agile team taking on assignments that include developing software tools and updating or creating new receiver capabilities. Learning opportunities are numerous with multiple courses provided by the NSS Position, Navigation, and Timing Academy.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

• Tentative graduation of undergraduate program of 2022
• Applicants must be currently pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM)
• Basic understanding of software development processes for real-time embedded hardware/software applications
• Demonstrated C/C++ class project or work experiences
• High motivation to solve problems and continuously improve existing products
• Desire to contribute to a results oriented product development team
• Strong verbal and written technical communication skills
• Ability to work with a diverse team
• A genuine desire to learn and innovate

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills An ideal candidate would have some of the following attributes:

• Enrolled in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent degree
• Passion for learning beyond the classroom with hack-a-thon, personal project, or open source contributions
• Experience with development boards such as Raspberry Pi, Arduino, BeagleBone.
• Coursework or experience with digital signal processing
• Coursework or experience with navigation algorithms and estimation theory
